Instead they squander trillions in Iraq.

The last time Congress passed an Amtrak bill was after a fatal train crash - The Washington Post

In 2008, the Democrat-controlled Congress and the Bush White House were at odds over an Amtrak bill. Democrats wanted to double Amtrak’s budget. The Bush administration wanted to zero it out. A reauthorization bill had languished for years and funding was static.

Then in September, a commuter passenger rail train collided with a freight train in Los Angeles killing 25 people and injuring dozens. Suddenly, Congress did what it does best: React.

Another moron thread. How long has Obama been in office? How long did Reid rule the Senate? And somehow it's the GOP's fault. Do any of you on the left actually think?

Do we get these same questions over and over and over and over because of the contests that require people to start threads?

Seems to me that the rules state that they are suppose to be new topics. Not rehashed ones because you can't come up with anything new.

why don't Rs want to invest in Americans? It would result in too many people getting decent paying jobs while a Democrat is in the White House.

"Instead they squander trillions in Iraq."

Either you are VERY ignorant on the issues or are very biased.

ALL the MAJOR dems of the time voted FOR Bush to take any actions he deemed necessary.

Keep in mind the DEMS controlled the Senate and as we saw with harry reid as Senate Majority Leader in control he could STOP ANY LEGISLATURE HE WANTED TO.

Tom Dashele was the DEM SML at the time and could have killed the bill. Instead, he CO-SPONSORED THE BILL.

The DEMS in the SENATE supported the financing for IRAQ.

In the House the DEM Minority Leader also co-sponsored the bill.

Do we have to keep posted the names of ALL the top DEMS who vited FOR the bill.

Ff course some lefties come back with Bush signed the bill and TOOK the ACTIONS.

No one is denying Bush gave the order but, MANY on the left want to ignore the pat the dems played.

To repeat WITHOUT the DEM SUPPORT Bush couldn't do anything.

Now to your issue of infrastructure. You have to be more specific. There are all kinds of "infrastructure" and who is responsible for it.

This place has become boring with all these rehashed threads.
New rule needs to be in place to ban threads that begin with a question - those all all the worst threads that are set up for trolling.

Why don't Republicans want to invest in US infrastructure?
Because it never ends up in "shovel ready" anything? Because it always instead just ends up going to pay big salary and benefits for a bunch of state and local $200,000/yr. public 'servants' to keep their jobs afloat for yet another year? Like stimulus did the last time?

Why do you ask? Is it time to preserve a state or local public employee unionionized hack's overcompensated job again?

You think you can stay in topic to the ops question? Why hasn't the republican controlled congress invested in our crumbling infrastructure and instead will continue too waste money on wars? Oh and if I remember right while the dems controlled the Senate the pubs controlled the house, the same house btw who are the ones who control the purse strings.

Lightbulb Why don't Republicans want to invest in US infrastructure?

The Pubs hate spending taxpayer dollars on anything that benefits the public. The thing is, they've gotten their low-info followers to buy into that silly agenda.

Just look at some of the moronic posts in this thread defending them.

Carry on.

Just think of the Trillions of $$ that Democrats have spent just on Obamacare that could have gone to Infrastructure.

That Obamacare money could have built a lot of bridges and created a lot of jobs.
