I thought atheism wasn't a religion?

Since 70% of Americans are professed Christians doesn't that mean we already are a Christian nation?

Polytheism is a religion. How could someone who worships Zeus, or the Sun God, or Pangaea, follow the Ten Commandments, when one of those commandments denies the existence of the god they worship?

According to some posters, no.

Because all 70% aren't "True" Christians.

Irrelevant to the United States because our motto says, "In God We Trust" and excludes polytheists. Btw I could careless about 10 commandments anyway...

And yet our Constitution includes polytheists. By denying the government the power to exclude any religion. And it would pain me to ignore the polytheism of the Native American tribes that are the original occupants of this great nation.

It isn't. So?

"Thou shalt have no other Gods before me" is a command issued by the Abrahamic god and rules out - from the top of my head - Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Taoists, followers of Asatru and Shintoists. In fact, everybody not following a flavor of Islam, Christianity or Judaism.

You should thank Christians for creating the Constitution and making this nation 1776. Natives converted to Christianity after being introduced anyway...

How?

You've been excluding all sorts of self-professed Christians left and right, because they don't follow your version of Christianity. Jehovah Witnesses, Mormons, Fundamentalists that follow the Old Testament as well as the New, anyone, actually that doesn't agree with you, you've declared to be not Christian. And then you try to up the percentages of those who profess to be Christians? Contradict yourself much?
