Agreed-

I am a converted Catholic. The Catholics really do many good things for people and "walk the walk". Catholic Charities helps many poor people not only around the world, but in the US.

Would these hypothetical "Palestinians" be those wanderers who left their own country and found themselves parked on a lot in a back corner of Jordan that the Jordanians didn't want or...........?
What claim do modern-day Jews have to Israel? A bunch of European people with European surnames...but suddenly they are entitled to that land? ok

And? I'm also against gay marriage and I'm pro-life. I don't care one way or the other about birth control though.

I like this Pope in many regards, however his delving into politics is troubling, as Christ was apolitical. His socialistic political leanings are troubling as well, as charity and compassion comes from individuals, not through state compulsion.

You obviously don't know anything about the history of the Catholic Church if you are "disturbed" by Francis' "political statements." The Catholic Church has been a political organization for over 1500 years. I'd imagine you weren't too "disturbed" when JPII used his position to combat communism.

Why wouldn't modern day Jews be entitled to the land that has long belong to Jews for thousands of years? European Jews are a minority in Israel so you want to try that again. It is quite funny how people keep trying to use the European angle when they are a minority in Israel.

I don't hate Americans, I'm an American. I hate multinational corporations that have hijacked the political process and use their money and power to rig the game in their favor at the expense of everyone else. I hate that my nation has been duped by banksters and Wall St. fatcats. I also hate that we've gotten into bed with right wing neocon Zionists and American's foreign policy hinges upon one question "Is it good for Israel?" Please don't talk to me about George Soros either because I can't stand him either.

For what it's worth, I'm not Catholic. I was just pointing out that Catholic social teaching goes against the crony capitalism that America follows currently.

“At a time of great uncertainty in the Middle East and North Africa, we hold that it is the reasonable aspiration of all peoples to belong to a state and enjoy the merits of full and active citizenship on their own lands. We equally believe that the right of Palestinians for such statehood has been long overdue,” the statement read.

Obama today wouldn't specifically comment on the Vatican's move, but did say this:

"I continue to believe that a two-state solution is absolutely vital for not only peace between Israelis and Palestinians, but for the long-term security of Israel as a Democratic and Jewish state and I know that a government has been formed that contains some folks who don't necessarily believe in that premise," said Obama.
It doesn't change anything if the Vatican or Church of England want to believe in a group of people.
