The top priority of a state or national politician is fund raising for themselves and their party.

All politicians are for sale.

The problem is, that if Paul or Warren were to get in, the Wall St. Class would simply put more money into bribing, I mean influencing..I mean "lobbying" Congress members to go against any policies unfriendly to Wall St.
Seems a tad naive to assume Paul and Warren would not recieve or would decline donations from Wall Street.

Wall Street seems to hate Warren although she does seem very establishment on other issues.

Rand Paul is very establishment but I like to think his father had more of a backbone.

Since, we being so honest-will you answer the same question? Will others on here?
2008 Obama...largely because I was deadlocked over choosing McCain but hated Palin so that decided it.

2012 I voted libertarian (same as in 2004) in protest. I don't fully support any one party, I just couldn't hold my nose and vote for Romney or Obama.

Rand is learning you have to play the game to some extent to get a seat at the table.

McCain had a hard time learning that, should have been president in 2000 had he been more pragmatic about the BS you have to throw around in primaries. So, instead we got Bush the Unready.

Not at all, I'm telling you I've completely lost faith in the system and have little hope it will change for the better in my lifetime. I'm in my 60s, when I was a kid it was easy to believe that despite having different approaches to get there that both parties had the interests of the country and its people in mind, not so much these days.

I actually voted for Obama in 2008. Yes, I will freely admit now that I was a moron for doing so. Part of what drove me to vote for Obama was the horrific nature of the Republican ticket --- an aging McCain (who I admire for his military service, but wish he had retired years ago) and an "immature" Palin, who like Obama, proved unfit for the biggest stage. Obama has proven to be an incredibly poor choice as president. He was put into office in '08 by people that wanted to believe in his rhetoric (aka lies), and kept in office in '12 by pathetic, low-info morons, many of whom espouse Obama's "legendary" leadership skills here on C-D. It's really that simple.

In 2012, I voted for Gary Johnson. I don't think I'll ever vote D or R for the rest of my life, because they have proven to be different sides of the same corrupt coin. It's sad, because it seems that voting 3rd party is throwing my vote away, but at least I can hold out hope that one day we'll get a better breed of politician than we currently have.
