First. No, I don't think boys should join organizations created for girls or vice versa.
Second. Are there really that many 13-18 year olds who are transgendered? Transvestite? Really, I have no idea of the numbers.
Third. Why is being gay in the organization an issue? If you are a gay boy, join the Boy Scouts. If you are a gay girl, join the Girl Scouts? If you don't like the activities created for the members of that organization or troop because of gender self-identification issues, don't join.
It's a shame, but maybe it is time to disband the boy and girl scouts and just go to one organization - "Scouts."

Actually, the Scout oath began (did?) "On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God". It ended with "morally straight". The issue with homosexuals was that they were not morally straight.
The reason why the homosexual agenda had to fight a war against Scouting is because it was a high profile organization that taught morality and ethics, with are anathema to the homosexual agenda. It is also why they attacked the church. You can read all about it in a book called After The Ball.
Saying the word 'God' does not make it a religious organization. God is spiritually ambiguous. Anyone can join the boy scouts.
I won't go off on why you're tying to sexually and morality is both wrong and uneducated. But I'd really like to.
Why don't you go off on why the authors of After The Ball realized that a key obstacle to their agenda was the moral objection to homosexuality from religious and youth organizations and why they placed so much emphasis on demonizing those organizations? They certainly saw a link between morality and sexuality. They also knew that drag queens, bull dykes, and NAMBLA couldn't be part of the propaganda campaign. In reference to the latter they said that "suspected child molesters will never look like victims".

They observed others making the connections. They did not, themselves, recognize it.

If that is the case, then why the need to be blatantly dishonest?
From the book:
"Yes, of course--we know it, too. But it makes no difference that the ads are lies; not to us, because we're using them to ethically good effect..."
"Our effect is achieved without reference to facts, logic, or proof.".
"“We argue that, for all practical purposes, gays should be considered to have been born gay–even though sexual orientation, for most humans, seems to be the product of a complex interaction between innate predispositions and environmental factors during childhood and early adolescence.” Alas, “To suggest in public that homosexuality might be chosen is to open the can of worms labeled ‘moral choices and sin’ and give the religious intransigents a stick to beat us with. Straights must be taught that it is as natural for some persons to be homosexual as it is for others to be heterosexual: wickedness and seduction have nothing to do with it.”

Absolutely not. My daughters will NOT be in the GS especially if their local troop does this....my son will join the newly formed group that split from the boy scouts.
Personally I don't care if they do or don't. I don't have an issue with allowing a child that identifies as female to join a female group though.
