If this book was presented because a child with same sex parents is being harassed in class, that might not be a bad idea.

My mistake. I must have missed that.

Not the same thing at all-- the Bible is a religion, with a whole set of (often conflicting) ways to live your life. Wars have been and are being fought over religion. homosexuality is none of that. I'm very concerned for you if you honestly can't tell the difference.

So I'll ask again-- how is a children's book about two princes falling in love considered an agenda? I'll wait.

Theres absolutely no proof that being gay is not at least partially a learned behavior or something developed after birth. At four and five years old, maybe I don't want my kid thinking this is even an option as he is still developing. At five years old, when boys are still afraid of girls, a five year old can simply think he's gay if he thinks girls have coodies.
Gee, maybe they are gay. Or gee, maybe they don't know yet. Or gee, maybe they don't care.

If a 5 year old (or 8 year old in this case) reads Tom Sawyer and isn't attracted to Becky Thatcher, will he think he's gay? Guess we better take any book that references to romantic relationships of any sort out of school!

"conflicting" would be in the mind of the beholder.

Oh I can tell the difference. The mere presence of the Bible in public school sends people running scared these days.

Here's the thing: most relationships portrayed in the media are heterosexual, and for a while, that's really all there was. And gay people still existed.

So, having a gay relationship shown to kids (in the most innocent way I can even imagine, might I add) will not change... anything.

It doesn't have to be. It's the principle.

They are both social issues.

I wish people had more outrage over our declining Math/Reading/English scores as they do about social issues.
Seems social issues taught in school trump academic issues.
