It doesn't matter if you need to graduate with a BA in coffee before you can work at Starbucks if it's free.
People aren't complaining because they need to get an education, they're complaining because it's expensive and doesn't pay off.
They can complain till the cows come home.
Used to be a high school education was good enough.
Then college.
Now college must be part of a plan, not some half-ass effort to follow some set path to a whatever job.

What does that have to do with how much it should cost?
Its the truth. Just stop playing around the issue.
Most Republicans are fairly well educated and want their kids in good schools.
Seems like the crappy schools and low focus on education is in Liberal Democrat cities.
This is pretty much opposite of what you are saying.
Democrats like their voters uneducated and dependent.
This would be easier if the republicans would just put it in their platform. WE ARE ANTI EDUCATION. WE ENJOY YOU BEING IN DEBT AND THEN WE BLAME EVERYONE ELSE!
I am talking about republicans. They would blame everyone else. I place blame where it belongs. No where else. If you want to believe that or not is up to you and personally I don't care if you do. No one asked you to. I give truth whether people choose to believe truth is up to them.
What truth?
1. Vast majority of the Republicans aren't 1%. Virtually no Republican only wants the 1% to be educated.
2. The Republicans don't blame everyone else - that's a liberal/democrat specialty. The Republicans want each one of us to take up our own responsibility.
3. Blame for what? You can't get your free stuff?

Obama nationalized the student loan industry to make college "affordable" for everyone.

This. They are complaining because they take on a new car worth of debt but unlike a car, there is no direct use, especially with the blue squirrel requirements many entry level jobs have today asking for two years experience and three to four years off specific experience preferred.

I guess that isn't working out so great..is it ?
It is a little bit too soon to know the impact don't you think? The strident loan bubble was created under W. Bush even if he want the one to sign the bills, but sure to the Bush economy.

Student loans got nationalized in 2009. Bush had nothing to do with nationalizing the student loan industry. This was 100% Obama.
This is midway through 2015. You think 6.5 years isn't long enough to see the effects ?
Student loan debt skyrocketed since it was nationalized. The USG is handing out money like it's candy to kids wanting to go to college. The government is actually part of the problem of rising student loan debt.
Student loan debt was about $23K in 2007 and it's now about $29K in 2015.
Total student loan debt is now $1.6 TRILLION dollars.
The lower the stake you have in something, the lower its perceived value.
"Free" college will translate into lower performing students.
It will also devalue every undergrad degree earned prior to the free thing, and will be nothing more than HS diploma redux.
