If it's such a threat, more money needs to be appropriated for the Defense Dept.

Well, their mindless cult followers do seem to think they are superheroes who can do no wrong. It's really creepy, and sad.

Maybe the people of Sahel don't see global warming as a security threat

How is the history rewrite going that MO advocated in her speech in PR?

So one country is activiely taxing people to prevent global warming while the 'global comunity' is giving lip service at best. So what's the plan? How do we save the earth and when will we know? Do you think we alone can save the earth on time or will we need a superhero following a script form an old superman comic book where superman flies around the earth real fast to reverse time. guess MO gave him that idea as it requires history to be rewritten.
Global warming fanatics believe the world will be saved by taxes. carbon tax, emissions tax, etc.

Yes warming fanatics like the oil companies, unfortunately none are from the US, useless to try to implement carbon taxes when you have some GOP members that think only god can change the climate.

Now that six of the world's largest oil companies have essentially come out in favor of a carbon tax, it's getting harder to dismiss the idea as some kind of outlandish lefty plot. And those companies can help
their cause by engaging Congress directly, instead of outlining their case in a polite letter to the United Nations.

None of the companies -- BP Plc, Royal Dutch Shell Plc, Total SA, Statoil ASA, Eni SpA and BG Group -- is based in the U.S. Still, their argument should
resonate in Washington: "Clear, stable, long-term" policies that make carbon
more expensive (the letter never uses the word "tax") are necessary to reduce
uncertainty, stimulate investment and encourage the most efficient reductions in
emissions. Only governments can make those changes, they say. And those national
systems must eventually be connected to create a global system.
