I wish they'd just drop these 'debates'. They're ridiculous in a number of ways.

What I'd like to see would be a newspaper editorial board, with no audience, grill one of these guys around a table for an hour or so.

"Clown car" indeed. The neoCONS are a joke. If it is not Rand Paul then there is no acceptable other.

I agree. After the all get around to introducing themselves 3/4 of the debate will be over,
considering how long winded all of them are

I'd like to have them strapped up to a wheel, and have average citizens take turns
throwing darts at the body part of the politicians that screwed us the most

Some of the I do not know why they are running because it is a giving that they will go no where. Kasich the Gov of my state is running and will announce June 4th. He has done a good job but lacks the personality to sway the masses. He is running on his record while in congress and as the Gov of Ohio. His record is impressive he was the budget chairman during the Clinton surplus when he was in the in the House. And as Gov he took a deficit and turned it into a surplus while cutting taxes and spending which is the right approach.

I doubt that he will be in the debates or in the top ten and will be the first too drop out.

In any case, this has raised some question as to how the Republican debates will be handled, as 15 or 20 people in a debate is clearly too many. Fox News has arrived at an answer for their debate, presumably with the approval of the Republican National Committee, which regulates these matters. Fox will allow the top 10 contenders to participate, which it seems to me is still probably too many for a single debate.

No word on the structure for the Democratic debates, or if Hillary Clinton will agree to participate in them, if there in fact are any.
No! No No! We want the whole Klown Kar effect.

Last night I heard someone say they will average the polls and I'm glad they are telling the candidates now, how they will do it.

I think this thread belongs in the Elections sub-forum where debate discussion has been going on.

CNN has announced the format for its debate:

CNN announced a two-tier system for its Sept. 16 debate at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, Calif. The top 10 candidates will debate in one group, and the remaining candidates will face off in another. Each candidate must poll at 1 percent or higher. CNN requires debate participants to have at least one paid campaign staffer in two of the early voting states and have visited two of those states at least once.

So here you go, the media already picking and choosing participants
via gatekeeper polling that is of questionable validity, especially when
they haven't even debated yet.
Just one phase in the giant scam that will be the "Election" of 2016
which I guarantee will see Hillary Clinton win by a landslide.
