This will be the death stroke for Scouting. Would you allow your son to go camping with a gay man? Scout leaders are supposed to be mentors and role models for growing boys. Why didn't gays simply start a parallel organization if they didn't like Scouting as it was? They would be free to indulge in any behavior they choose rather than destroy what had been a hallmark of American culture and a good, safe environment for young boys.

I have a nephew, and I am pleased to hear that, should he joined the Scouts, people like you will not be involved.
Surely it is not news to you that most people in the age group to be parents of scouting age kids think that most gay people, like most straight people, are just - people.

What do you think gay men are all pedophiles? Not true. Besides, as I said above the scouts have put in safety measures to protect children from perverted adults. And there are plenty of "straight" men who do horrible stuff too. I would not trust any adult camping with my son without me there, or at least enough adults to keep an eye on one another. Weirdos are everywhere.
You are implying gay people are pedophiles. Not so. Most normal people of straight or gay orientations know enough to leave kids alone, but I would not trust any of them. Neither do the scouts.

Yes, and I had to laugh at the post about how great this would be for an Eagle Scout who just "learned he was gay."
Give me a break. This has nothing to do with not excluding kids and everything to do with allowing openly gay adults to be in leadership positions where they're surrounded by impressionable children. And pushing their agenda is next. Goodbye helping old ladies cross the street. Hello to the gay agenda and learning more than you ever wanted to know about the LGBT lifestyle.

As a former Eagle Scout, I would gladly and openly support the dissolution of the organization rather than see it become what it appears to be headed to - advocating the gay agenda of "normalizing" the abhorrent choices of a small minority and used as a laboratory for social engineering by abusing our children.
Do they allow adult men to lead Girl Scouts?
If not, then why not?
Do you support the policy if men are prohibited in leading the GS?

Having said that, there are double standards all over the place when it comes to adults and kids.
For example, I was considering becoming an official Big Brother even though I have already mentored a few kids on my own over the years. You know a kid whose Dad has died at a young age, so you try to help when you can by taking them to a ball game.
Anyway they had a bunch of info/background requirements which I am not too big on since I keep my family/personal life private. Still I understood the reasons from a safety standpoint, and was going to move forward.
However I found out that while I can be a big brother to a boy, I cannot be a big brother to a girl.
Yet a woman can be a big sister to a boy.

I wanted to know why, but the few people I inquired with didn't have an answer. I can certainly suspect why, and if hetero men are already under a presumption of more likely to molest a young girl, why wouldn't homo men not be under the same presumption of more likely to molest a boy?
Aside from political correctness and forced social engineering to make homosexual men eligible to be leaders with the Boy Scouts, how come the double standard?
Heck for that matter, if you are going to allow homosexuals to be alone with young kids of the same sex, why not instead say a homosexual woman can be a scout leader for boys, and a homosexual man be a scout leader with girls?
[SPECIAL NOTE] Don't anyone start in with "why assume homosexuals are child molesters" or some such PC rubbish, as it will fall on deaf ears.
My point is that if the powers that be assume heterosexual men cannot resist or be trusted around young girls, then why the double standard with homosexual men around young boys?

Yes there are male leaders in the girl scouts and female leaders in the boy scouts.
There are? Why? Whats the point of Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts if the two are going to mix? Just have Uni-Scouts then.
Yes there are, and I have no clue why. Ask the BSA, they set the rules for their group. They decided in 1988 that women could serve in leadership roles.
