Iran is a very powerful country in that region. Their GDP per capita is higher than that of Ukraine and China, in spite of the sanctions. They have good education and healthcare systems, and understand some technology (unlike Arab countries).

ISIS has no chance if they are at war with Iran.

Exactly. Especially when the best trained Iraqi troops are Iranian trained.

Let them kill each other. ISIS wants to draw the US and the EU so they can have their "holy war" against the crusaders. They really think Islam will jump on the ISIS ship and unify all Islam under their banner. Morons. They deserve each other.

Hmmmmmmmm................ didn't ISIS just survive the greatest and most powerful army on the planet?

Did not the Iranian trained Iraqi troops (along with Iranian advisors and elements of the Revolutionary Guard) just turn tail and run in the face of a much smaller ISIS force?

No. Whatever gave you that idea ? If the US wanted ISIS done, they would be done.
The US and Israel, and Gulf kingdoms have a use for ISIS. They want to use it to overthrow
the Syrian Government and Hezbollah through covert means.

This is propaganda. Shiite southern Iraq has not been threatened by IS. They would have
no chance of taking it. Cities and towns in parts of Iraq where your average Joe Shia has no
interest in are not worth "fighting" for when there's bombs going off everywhere and you
can't see the enemy. Additionally, the Iraqi government knows the game. They know IS
is being supported by the West. This is common knowledge across the Middle East.

The US could not defeat the Viet Cong either. But if the US and Vietnam were truly at war...

It was a main battle tank not a guerilla that bust through the gates of the US Embassy in then Saigon in 1975.

All to tighten the noose around Iran and Russia too as Assad is one of their main allies.

I have wondered why we have to get involved with any country with a problem. Why can't they solve their own problems? Then to top it off we give them foreign aid so they'll like us. Wow! whats wrong with that picture?
