Why do you get MORE food if you have an income from being employed?

They're deceptively including SS, Medicare, and other government programs that require military service or decades of premium payments for benefits eligibility.

Those who receive welfare, SNAP, Medicaid, or any of the 80+ means-tested social welfare programs benefits never have to contribute even one thin dime to the cost of funding those programs.

You should be ashamed at being so deliberately dishonest.

Shurg, it was quick and fast, and meets a definition that the right has used here over and over. I can also link to ones showing that the majority of those collecting just food stamps that can work...do.

Would that work better?

I've never seen anyone on the right claim that those who paid into SS and Medicare for decades didn't pay for/earn their benefits.

Are they working full-time jobs? Or just a few hours per week?

Stupid. Just sounds like another excuse to hate on the have-nots. Not people receiving (supplemental) food stamps are non taxpayers, since many happen to be employed.
and..

Grocery stores have also balked at the proposal because new software would have to be installed to track spending by food stamp users, which is estimated to cost as much as $55 million.

Look for those who repeat the "1 trillion in welfare" argument. I see it a lot.

Are you unaware that 40.9% of 1040-filing households have a zero or negative federal income tax liability, while only 19.7% of U.S. households receive food stamps. It is extremely likely that those receiving food stamps pay NOTHING in the taxes that fund that program.
