A gay man who supported, or at least considered supporting, prez candidate Ted Cruz was ostracized and boycotted. Zero tolerance for diversity of thought on the left. You're either with us, or you're with the terrorists. Is that the line from the left?
Kind of funny reasoning based on articles by authors who are now attacking Reisner for his apology. I guess the authors understand the concept of you are with us or you are with the terrorists quite well.
Yes, the Democrats are so intolerant and still have so many black folks on the "plantation" that one of their black dudes went all the way to the White House, the first time ever in our nations history! What do they feed those victims on the plantations??
And yet those Democratics, regardless of achievement, have no credibility. What do they think they were feeding 'we citizens'. And Friday, the chief congressional leader of that party dropped a load on that uppity upstart black dude. Maybe she decided she didn't like that taste of the shovel ready stuff they were feeding on.
Before the Civil Rights era, the Democratic party had a large conservative wing in the South because a lot of southerners were still pissed at the Republican party over the Civil War and reconstruction. During the 19th and early 20th century, it was the Republicans who were the liberal progressives.
Do you really think the likes of Abraham Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt would be welcome in the Republican party today?
This is mythology. The pre-civil rights democrats were largely left-liberal. William Fulbright (D, AR) was famous for pushing federal funding of higher education. What liberal wouldn't love that, even today? Sam Ervin (D, GA) was famous for work on senate committees that brought down Joe McCarthy and later Richard Nixon. Robert Byrd was known both pre and post civil rights for his love of federal pork spending.
The Southern Democratic segregationists were not conservatives. They were pro-tax-and-spend, just as today.
A gay person doing business with a guy like Ted Cruz is like a black person doing business with a Klansman. People don't react well to traitors of kind.

Sure and that 'black dude' went on to specialize in the practice of race-baiting, not according to me, but according to Bill and Hillary Clinton. (BTW this is why any alliance between Obama and the Clintons will forever rest on a shaky foundation)
Pres. Obama chimes in every time there is a high profile incident entailing purported racism, from Skip Gates, to Trayvon Martin, to Michael Brown. Yet in the case of the white truck driver severely beaten by blacks in Detroit, all we hear from the prez is a very loud quiet. Why is that? He's pretty clearly just trolling and agitating, working to keep racial division and hostility roiling and boiling. And by playing the race card so much, there comes a predicable 'boy cries wolf' effect that makes it hard on genuine victims of racism.
This is politics of division, same as with the segregationist Democrats of the 50's and 60's, just in mutated form.
