How quickly we forget that tobacco use was once endorsed and promoted by our Government and Medical Doctors. It was glamorized and shown constantly in movies and TV.

The Government even continued to subsidize cigarettes in the military 12 years after the Surgeon General issued the first health warning in 1964. Free cigs were given to everyone in the Military from WW1-Vietnam.

Not making excuses for anyone today, just pointing out that Government, colluding with corporations and the media, is almost ALWAYS the problem.

Kansas is the poster-child for a GOP economic sandbox. Their economy should be roaring and revenues should be pouring in. Yet, that is not the case. Republicans can never admit when one of their experiments has failed, though.

Republicans are more about faith than facts.

Kansas has a population of 2.9 million with $1B on welfare spent through the state..
Thats $344 per citizen

California has a population of 39.2 million with $19.9B on welfare.
Thats $507 per person.

Given the cost of living in Kansas is a lot lower than California, I'd say California is doing a HORRIBLE job, compared to Kansas..

try again..
