Like Germany, Texas wants its gold back from the New York Fed:

https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q...old+depository

Where's the progressive leftist, Bolshevik, East Bloc, censorious New York Times? Like the month-long, 1000 person Cliven Bundy escalation (until a full six days after the BLM retreat), NYT is silent, MIA. Not a peep, not in Newest | Oldest | Relevance.

The New York Times. The progressives' newspaper of record where leftists can eat only the cultural mush that's good for them.

The New York Federal Reserve doesn't have it. The gold, which belongs to the University of Texas Investment Management Co. sitting in a rented vault somewhere in Manhattan. Why this would scare the New York Times or anybody else is a mystery to me.

That gold does not belong to the state of Texas but to the University of Texas.

UT said they would move the gold to Texas if Texas charges less than the Fed does to house it in Manhattan.
The gold belongs to the UT Investment Co. which oversees endowments. They started buying gold in 2008.
UT has not said yes to this.

UT is a state land grant institution. It's part of the State of Texas.

"Late last week, the Republican governor signed a bill establishing the first state-run gold depository in the nation."

Because there are many many many many more shorts on gold futures than there is actual gold to cover it. Naked shorts are supposed to be illegal, but well.... you know how that works.

The state cannot take UT's endowment fund.

UT hasn't even agreed. They tried to pass this under Perry and he told them no.

Why a political, 1000-person rangeland flare-up in Nevada would scare the New York Times or anybody else is a mystery too. It was little more than only the biggest 10th Amendment news of the century.

But it didn't spill a word of ink on it until a full six days after a newly militarized BLM retreated, with a grudging, petulant Timothy Egan opinion piece.

Go figure.

Now find this in it.

This was pushed by a politician that has closed ties to investment companies.
He has not consulted with UT and UT did not push for this.
He's been trying for 2 years to get this passed.
