You know, if you can't come up with anything more recent than fifty freaking years ago, maybe it's time to think about whether the attitude of the Democratic party has changed.

Now we have Republican candidates who won't even take a stand against states flying the Confederate flag because they're worried they might **** off racists who might support them in the primaries. I'm sure Lincoln is doing warp 9 rolling over in his grave.

And BTW... It's not the Dems who are making the Republicans out as racists and sexists. Some Republicans do a great job of that on their own.

That is because the Democratic party OWNED the south as far as politics went, until they passed the Civil Rights Act and the Southern States have been firmly Republican ever since. The Republican Party itself held a postmortem after losing to Obama in 2012; that report, BY REPUBLICANS said they were not inclusive to minorities or women. If they could admit it then, why can't you admit it now?

No, it is usually the Dems making them out to be, as you've done here.
Several of the GOP candidates have come out and said take the flag down.
All Obama said on it was "good point" in response to Romney.
Of the candidates who didn't, they all say it's the state's decision. It's a states' rights issue - anyone who is being honest knows full well states' rights are big in the GOP. You are the one claiming it's because they don't want to anger racists; you are the one being dishonest.

No kidding, the Democrats create the KKK and then claim the Republicans are the racists.

It's the same Jedi mind trick with ObamaCare, the dems write the act and sign it into law behind closed doors, without any Republican input at all, and now if the Republicans don't fix the horrible law the dems wrote, it's the Republican's fault.

Yeah sure, the racist dems fight the Republicans for a century, and then suddenly they love Republicans.

Sorry pal, the racists remained democrats, they did not switch parties.

Of all the racist segregationists of the US Senate, of these 13 segregationist US Senators:

Harry Byrd Sr. (D, VA)
Robert Byrd (D, W VA)
Allen Ellender (D, LA)
Sam Ervin (D, NC)
Albert Gore Sr. (D, TN) Al gore's father
James Eastland (D, MS)
William Fulbright (D, AR) Bill Clinton's mentor
Walter George (D, GA)
Ernest Hollings (D,SC)
Russell Long (D, LA)
Brevard Russell, Jr (D, GA)
John Stennis (D, MS)
Strom Thurmond (D/R, SC)

Only one switched parties from Repub to Dem, and that was Strom Thurmond, all the rest remained faithful democrats their entire lives!!!

In fact, it was the Democratic Party that nominated Robert "KKK" Byrd as their senate leader, and this was AFTER he filibustered the civil rights act.

Sen. Byrd, "The Klan is needed today as never before and I am anxious to see its rebirth here in West Virginia."

The longest standing member of the senate today is Robert Byrd, and Richard Brevard Russell, Jr. was the longest serving member of the democrat party up until 1971, when he died in office. Both men were democrats, and both filibustered the Civil Rights Amendment.

Like I said, Byrd is the longest standing democrat senator, and Russell was the longest standing member until his death in 1971. And the liberals in this forum want to claim all the democrats they all went flocking to the republicans??

Former racists of both parties renounced their old views, and neither party has a perfect record on racial matters by any stretch. But it is a libel to suggest that the Republican party, the anti-slavery party, the party of Lincoln, and the party that traditionally supported civil rights, anti-lynching laws, and integration, became the racist party after 1964.

Racism isn't limited to one party. It never has been.

What happened? The turn of the last Century, brought Communism to American soil.

They have finally after all the years of hiding under a rock, but never dying, they come out, pulled off the masks and yelled socialism for all.
The 1960's was the start of the Communist take over of the Democrat party.

Before WW-II, both parties were Progressive. (The Progressive ERA...)

Since then it has been a tough fight. Communism, or the Constitution. One or the other.
It isn't Republican v. Democrat any longer, now that the information highway has erupted in the 1990's.
The 2 parties can no longer fool the people. It is Government v. We The People.

Progressive progress toward Communism and government rule v. Conservative principles of the US Constitution and free people.

Fifty years later, after Nixon's "Southern Strategy", the remaining racists of the next generation are now Pubs.

Odd?

I report.

You decide.

Carry on.
