Your statement is silly, and shows you don't know anything (or that you are trying to mislead).
What does anything you just said have to do with when he was most successful, or in anyway prove me wrong ?

The RIAA is the group intrusted with certifying album sales and they say his last album(which was released in February) has not sold 500,000 copies yet, and that his last rap album sold just as much as his other 10 albums combined.

Are you saying anything I said was untrue ????? Im guessing not, so I dont understand why it is so hard for you simply not understand that he isnt as popular as he used to be.

As for the specific argument you are using in your post, that is truly misleading. Apple is one of the highest valued companies in the world, and yet there new add features a song from an artist who's last album has sold to date, 80,000 copies. So Chevy choosing Kid Rock isnt some homage to current popularity.

The Grammy's has never been about popularity either. For god's sake, there are Jazz Musicians who play at the Grammy's who can barely pay rent.

As for the Lions halftime show, in 2014 the Detroit Academy of Arts and Sciences Show Choir performed. in 2013, Tony Lucca performed. There are very few people outside of Michigan who even knows who that is. The Lions obviously shop local when it comes to who performs the Thanksgiving halftime show.

As for Coors Light, They sponsor everyone. They have like a roster of 150 artist they sponsor. As does Pepsi and Coca Cola. Getting your tour sponsored isnt a big deal. Do you even know how sponsorship work ?

I can go to Coca Cola's website right now, fill out a form and have them sponsor an end of summer little league game.

You are obviously a fan boy, and that is fine, im not arguing that he doesnt have followers. but his album sales dropped from 11 million to less than 500,000. His popularity has waned. Michael Jackson's last album( release while he was living) only sold 2 million. So your guys fall doesnt look so bad.

You know, it's usually the conservatives who laugh at Hollywood when celebrities or musicians try and offer political views. But not when they say something conservatives agree with. Then it's ok. But if they say something liberals agree with, then it's the conservatives attacking Hollywood and their uninformed views.

Weird.

To be clear, I really don't care about this.

the industry has changed, but the most popular usually still sell in the millions and it is more than Taylor swift and a handful of rappers.

Heritage is lived. You dont become culturally Southern just by moving to the South, so even if his grandparents were from there, it doesnt make him one.

In other news Ozzy Osbourne is not the Prince of Darkness, David Bowie is not an alien, GWAR are not interplanetary warriors, Britney Spears did not wear that outfit for school.

He's a performer, and uses symbolism and imagery to further his career just like everyone else. Lynyrd Skynyrd used the battle flag in most of their merchandising and as a backdrop at concerts (and though most of the members originated in Florida had a song called Sweet Home Alabama). Should Lemmy of Motorhead drop the Iron Cross pendant and Western Hat he's famous for too, Stoke-on-Trent is not known for it's Wehrmacht and Cowboys?

No one is talking about what anyone has the right to do, the argument is just as you said. They are performers. But the excuse of heritage and culture dont work when he is from Detroit.

stop trolling for an argument about something no one is even debating.

He can be anyone he wants to be. If he feels like a southerner you have to treat him as such. He can even be a woman if he wants to.

Then men can't call themselves women and women can't call themselves men since they weren't born that way.

I fully agree that a person who believes they were born in the wrong body can not claim to have shared the same experiences.

But in the same respect, Has this man ever even claimed to be a "Southerner" ?

This is just like the fireman in Minnesota who waved a Confederate flag in a parade just because he wanted to be "anti-PC". Minnesota has no so-called "heritage" surrounding that. How ignorant.

Just trying to be provocative and make a statement.
