Is it still considered offensive if a black person hangs up a confederate flag? (boycott, speech)

LOL!! OP you have definitely got the libs panties in a wad. Don't expect them to believe you because it is not on their agenda. They will not believe anything that goes against their beliefs. You actually have to stick their noses in it.
I've heard liberals say in cases like these one of two things:
1. It's fine if a black person does xyz, but "racist!" if a white person does xyz because blah, blah "white privilege" blah blah "white supremacy" blah blah blah!
2. It's not fine if a black person does xyz is an "Uncle Tom".
So proglibs are usually bigoted against white but sometimes blacks, but always someone is made out to be the bad guy.
People say it's offensive when whites do it, but how do people feel when blacks do it? One of my neighbors is black and has one in his yard.
I'm not really contributing much to these confederate flag discussions as this is an issue that will work itself out... and doesn't affect me much anyhow. But I like your question, and I'd like to add that what you propose IS a real scenario.
I went to a demo-derby a few years back in this backward Midwestern state. And right there in line was a young black girl- probably in high school- carrying a rebel flag purse. I could guess in several directions as to what was going on there... but honestly I just don't know. I pointed it out to my friend that was with me, and he was just as confused.
It's a big world out there. If you can imagine it, odds are somebody's done it.
It doesn't matter if the op has proof or not, some black people in the south, just see it has southern pride. There was a contreversy on this black kid in south carolina for liking the flag- this was in march, way before this flag crap we have now. I only knew because of facebook. Is it really hard to believe that a black man my fly the rebel flag? People keep comparing it to the (backwards) swastika that hitler used. Not the same in some aspects, but similar usage. Hell; I want one, the shear wtf factor of other black people would make it worth it. Sucks TV Land pulled DOH, just because of this contreversay.
You can't have the land of the free, and have everything be politically correct. It's really more the land of the priviledged, paved with eggshells.
Do I hate racism, sure I do, do I like the looks I get with my white/peurto rican girlfriend, or the looks of not only heterosexuals but the other letters of the lgbt, when I say I'm pansexual, nope, I don't. I do like that people should be able to do as they please. Everythings not black and white, the country is a grey area, things like freedom is a double edge sword, excuse me; "freedom," or more like priveledges. You can't make everybody happy, nomatter what. It's like that gay marriage thread, suing churches for excercising their right to follow in their religion is stupid, or the porn thread in Great Debates; there are people that want more than skinimax has to offer at 3am. Granted you don't see the original Union colony states still waving tye Union Jack(to my knowledge) it still happens in the south. I am a southern black man, yeah I want one of these flags- not that I use the word, if it is the symbol of racism, to me, it woukd be no different than using the n-word. And any black person who uses that word in any manner, should'nt have anything to say about it.

No, it is not fine, it is probably a naive person who would do something like this....usually someone young and stupid.

I'm having trouble figuring out why people keep bringing up the issue of the flag. If people would just let it go and shut up about it then it would be a non-issue. People who keep talking about it are rabble rousers IMHO.

True if progressives would lift their ban and censor of the flag. Lift the banning and censoring and no one will need to talk about it anymore, until then people don't have to just accept progressives banning and censoring. Progressive would just love that.
