An individual needs the government to make her feel ok about flying the confederate flag on her property, for instance? That is one weak individual.

Eventually people will get fired just for being seen with the flag in their private lives. A cop was fired the other week for having confederate underwear on his facebook. People will harass others who have the flag. Once the flag is officially labeled 'offensive' there will be firings, harassment and vandalism. We already have harassment and vandalism happening. Sugar coated communist oppression is still oppression.

Yeah, thats a tough one, how about. . . . . . A mass shooting against blacks from a guy who displayed the flag in his pro-racist pict?

It had been offensive for a long time, and people get fired for doing stupid things all the time, so nothing is new. No one is oppressing you.

To many people it does. Does a massive army coming down murdering, raping and pillaging your people and countryside represent liberty to you?

"The Senate rejected three amendments. One would have put a different Confederate flag on the pole. A second would fly the flag only on Confederate Memorial Day, and the third would leave the flag's fate up to a popular vote."

Voting Nay were Senators Harvey Peeler, Danny Verdin, and Lee Bright (all from the northwest section of the state) .

What a load of leftist B.S. This is the line that the left, including the leftist media, has been pushing all along. They are wrong again, and their baby-bird audience, with open-mouths and eyes closed, ready for feeding as always, will forget how wrong they are before the next time they tune in to watch.

In fact, taking this flag down from this monument was never particularly controversial, except to the extent that people in the South had to stand by and listen to leftist bigots across the country demonize them baselessly, dishonestly and unjustly for their association with it. Nobody likes to be called names or have their culture insulted by a bunch of hate-filled liars. So who can blame them for pushing back against that, which of course we have all seen them do.

But of course that is what leftists do, and to ask them to stop doing that would be to ask them to reduce the quantity of politically oriented speaking by in many cases 50% or more.

This will pass the South Carolina House easily as well. Here is an advance tally of the votes in the House and Senate which the Charleston Post and Carrier has been compiling since the first few days after Dylann Roof's mass murder of nine people:

Live: We're asking every member of the SC legislature about the Confederate flag - The Post and Courier

They got the Senate vote spot on. The House, which also requires a 2/3 majority, will also pass this easily. In fact, the people of South Carolina are supportive of this, and the politicians would not be supporting it if they weren't. Leftist lies and bigoted smears of these people to the contrary, nowithstanding.

Its OK. Bigots can indiscriminately demonize Southern white people on boards like this where everyone can see who they are.

IMO, I hope is taken down and put in the local museum.
It appears that is what is going to happen.

This is where it's going. It's not simply a matter of taking the flag down and going back to life as usual pre-Roof. It will now be a public shaming for anyone that displays one. The SC senate officially makes it a symbol of blatant racism. If you have confederate flags and want to keep your job - you better keep them hidden in your home.

Haha, all the losers are all whiny about their loser flag being legally removed from government property. Gotta love it.
