I'll Start:
The Stern Gang?
The Haganah?
PLO?

I think there were also some Arab groups in the 20's???
I'm sure it started with the dawn of man when one person realized they could use fear as a tool.

On topic? The topic is, "Where did terrorism start??". Perhaps you should have clearly defined a topic.

The IRA was/is an "acknowledged" terror group. Or do we only want to talk about Arabs here???

Obviously the IRA is not the answer, unless they are Middle Eastern.

Well that is one of several places where many of the ideas and a turn towards a more fundamentalist form of Islam manifested from in modern times but not the only one.

As to acts of terrorism, well I figure it is a man or group with a cause and no airforce.

The definition of terrorism is to evoke social, political, or religious change through the use of intimidation and terror on primarily a civilian population, but not limited to.

The use of suicide bombers and small scale insurrections is generally due to the fact that these people who wish to seek change have no other method of bringing it about. In many cases, these things tend to take place in or under oppressive governments, like Egypt was during the rise of the Muslim Brotherhood. If people do not have the option of being able to protest, they will usually resort to violence and we all know how violent the Middle East is today.

In the Middle East there is a serious issue of class division that takes place. On one hand you have sheiks, monarch's and dictators that are often supported or funded by the US and other western nations and on the other hand you have a large segment of poor people who believe the only ones representing them are their clerics and fellowship shared in Islam.

Good question. Here's what I found:

General sense of "systematic use of terror as a policy" is first recorded in Eng. 1798. Terrorize "coerce or deter by terror" first recorded 1823. Terrorist in the modern sense dates to 1947, especially in reference to Jewish tactics against the British in Palestine -- earlier it was used of extremist revolutionaries in Russia (1866); and Jacobins during the French Revolution (1795) -- from Fr. terroriste. The tendency of one party's terrorist to be another's guerilla or freedom fighter was noted in ref. to the British action in Cyprus (1956) and the war in Rhodesia (1973). The word terrorist has been applied, at least retroactively, to the Maquis resistance in occupied France in World War II (e.g. in the "Spectator," Oct. 20, 1979).

Definitely, they were around a good number of years before the start of the 20th century.
