I have a better idea. End prohibition that put this guy in power in the first place, and has created havoc in Mexico and Latin America due to this country's appetite for drugs! Or have we not learned from our past failures regarding prohibition and the black market and increase in crime that comes with it? Will we? Nope! Why? Because our government profits from both sides of the drug war!

He's not our problem.
Reportedly, Guzman is a long time informant to the U.S. The way the story goes, Sinaloa, unlike other cartels, is far more focused on business than violence and he and the U.S. work together to take out his competition.

Reportedly, Sinaloa controls as much as 80% of the wholesale drug trade in the U.S. Chicago is the hub of the Sinaloa operation in the U.S. Location means that 70% of the U.S. population can be reached within a one day drive. Chicago is also a major train / airport hub in the U.S. The ethnic composistion of the city and its size means it's easy to blend in. And then there's the chicken or egg gang culture, 100,000 strong for retail sales.

As the U.S. has cracked down on domestic Meth Labs, most Meth is now imported from Mexico. Sinaloa produces a higher quality product and undercuts the competition.

It's believed that most drugs are entering the U.S. via house to house tunnels with more than 100 tunnels in Nogales. The owners of these homes typically claim they had no idea that their tenants had tapped into international sewer systems and built sophisticated tunnels and trains to transport massive quantities of drugs into the U.S. Obviously, the neighbors are in on it and don't notice construction crews or distribution vehicles.

There is an insatiable demand for drugs in the U.S.

Why in the hell should we take this guy in, prosecute and imprison him here on the American taxpayer dime? He's committed no crimes inside of our borders. He's Mexico's problem to deal with, not ours.
I saw this morning that they say he has had people killed in the USA.

While seniors are at high risk for becoming addicted to Opioids, synthetic heroin, they are not embracing heroin as a better bang for the buck. That's the domain of teens, young adults- middle age who use prescription Opioid medications for recreational purposes.

Oxy was developed for end of life Cancer pain and was approved by the FDA in 1996. It's obvious the public has found other uses for it.

In REALITY where I live, and where he got actually charged with a crime....it is in fact a crime.

I get it, you want Meth to be legal (not out of some evil urge, but rather that people should have the freedoms to do what they want-which is perfectly reasonable). Reality is, it is not legal. He has flaunted our laws, and most likely he HAS had people killed. He isn't playing patty cake here.

Because he's wanted in the US too.

and Mexico apparently can't keep the drug kingpins in jail once they finally catch them.

Our laws? He's a Mexican national that has never set foot in the United States. Our laws are none of his concern.

I agree with this. Kill him, kill his successor, kill the person that replaces that person and so on. Eventually a smart person will come along and realize that it doesent pay to be a drug cartel kingpin.

We have more bombs and bullets than there are people in all of Mexico. We need to go back to the days of Gunboat Diplomacy and the Big Stick policy ... especially when it comes to Latin America. The only thing they understand is force.
