And just where does that authorizationalsomandate we go to war?
The Congressional authorization, in fact, sanctions it. Of course, that largely happened because of all the Dem quotes I posted (and more) from 1998 to 2003. Who was president in 1998? 1999? 2000? when all those Dems were advocating for military action against Iraq? Hmmm?
Why does the press even pander to Dick Cheney? It's like Newt Gingrich - neither have been in office in decades and are lightening rods for divisiveness and still they get air time. They are both irrelevant.

Authorization/sanction IS NOT a mandate. GWB is on record saying HE made the go/no go decision, either that's true or he's a liar, take your pick.

WHAT relevance does the POTUS in 1998, 1999, 2000 have to what should have been our priorities in threat assessment in post 9/11 America? WHY should a country Cheney never missed an opportunity to tell us had NOTHING to do with 9/11 have been a priority?
Many Democrats advocated such, including Hillary Clinton and John Kerry, Obama's past and present Secretaries of State. Likely due to what Bill Clinton had been saying about Iraq and its WMDs since 1998.
Read what they had to say about it in their own words, here:
It's a sanction. Just like authorizing the federal budget isn't a mandate and the federal government spends the money anyway.

Clinton and the Dems were saying what Bush/Cheney said YEARS before Bush/Cheney were even involved with Iraq. Clinton even ordered military action against Iraq. That's why its relevant.

I totally Agree with Cheney, while I'm not fond of the man, he is correct....
This is a very bad mistake and now other middle eastern states will expect to gain nuclear weapons....
Obama and Kerry are idiots, there are no other words.
Cheney is an idiot and he should shut his mouth. Someone that has caused as much damage as he has to the US should be ignored.
