Kind of like, President Obama and his now wide support for "gay marriage" Guess people are allowed to change their minds, as the world turns.

Anyone who dodged the draft or went to Canada instead of going to kill little brown people should be given a medal. I know I was there.

Mitt supported a mistake of a war and the draft that manned it which wasted far too much American blood while ensuring not a drop of it was ever his own, bit of a different situation I'd say. But hey, if you support a guy like that, knock yourself out, fortunately the country won't have to deal with him.

Democrats definitely win the prize when it comes to not serving their country in the armed forces.

Republicans?

Eisenhower served, Nixon served, Ford served, Reagan served, G.H.W. Bush served, G.W. Bush served.
Since WW2 the following Democrats served as well , Harry Truman, Adlai Stevenson, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, George McGovern, Jimmy Carter, Walter Mondale, Mike Dukakis, Al Gore Jr., John F. Kerry. What's your point?

People went to Canada to save themselves, not someone else.
If there are medals given for self-preservation, then they would qualify.

That was the draft era. Today, most leftists would be too scared to serve in the military.

Thanks to the Obama crowd, Gays will no longer be excused from the draft if resurrected.

Do you seriously believe everyone in the military today are conservative Republicans? I have family members in the service who would prove you wrong. Painting with a broad brush never works and is grossly unfair to a lot of people. It also makes it difficult to judge your intelligence very high. The Right does not have a monopoly on patriotism.

There are always exceptions to a rule. If you don't know that I find it difficult to judge your intelligence very high.

The vast majority of military members since the draft ended are conservatives.
