I am for gun control, but the first thing we have to do is to ensure that the laws on the books are enforced as it was intended. What's the point if we can't ensure compliance?

The NRA lobby doesn't actually want enforcement of existing laws. It's another empty talking point.

Like I said elsewhere, eliminate gang violence and the US is just as safe as any other 1st world country.
Exactly, eliminate these types of shootings and even with 300 million firearms we are just as safe as any other 1st world country. Sheeple don't understand that though, they just want feel good short term band aids.
But focusing on those types of shootings opens up a whole new can of worms.

I read page one.

then thought.... Libs are gonna show up and talk gun control

don't worry about fixing the issue, just take the guns.

more Band-Aids from the left.

laughable and predictable.

If you don't like guns, don't buy one.

It's the same rhetoric over and over isn't it ? It's easy though, just put a band aid on it instead of really looking into what is making the wound fester.
I'm thinking if our politicians and the public really went after the root causes it might offend some and we just can't have that.

"Mass shootings" defined as 4 or more shot in one event.

From the link:

Will anything change? Probably not. The Charleston shooting did produce a fruitful national conversation -- not on guns, but on the symbolism of the Confederate flag, which the shooter adopted as a banner of his racist beliefs. It took 150 years and a national tragedy for the country to reach something like a consensus on the meaning of a battle flag.

I have reached something like a consensus on the Democratic Party.

Eliminate gang violence and the U.S. is still 50 times more insane with regards to gun violence than any other First World Country! It gets even more skewed when other kinds of violence are brought in and still not in America's favor.

You have no idea how to fix it either. The UK didn't know how to fix it either. So they took the guns. Works for them. Say what you want you can't get killed by a gun over there.

because, if its a gang shooting, you will rest easier.

"eliminate gang violence"

if only they would just cure diabetes and cancer, and we would be as healthy as any 1st world country

You do know that most people who want "gun control" is about regulation of firearms such as licenses, insurance for weapons, and criminal/psychological tests for criminals.

I.e. I for one don't care if you have a gun

I just think you should be responsible for that weapon, and if its used in a bad way we have the tools to find you.
