But don't you think it's probable that many or most of those you look down upon as "lazy unmotivated poor people" came from conditions that were even harsher than those you experienced? From your description it sounds as if you started out pretty low on the economic/fortune ladder but not at the bottom.

But they are still there...although lately I am aspiring to go right back down to the bottom,it pays better....especially if you can be frugal and know how to produce your own food.

If Bush wants economic stimulus, how about letting us all keep more of what we earn in the first place? There's a novel idea.
Bush would have a very hard time getting the Democrats in Congress to vote for that.

To address the mortgage crisis, the package also raises the limits on Federal Housing Administration loans and home mortgages that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac can purchase to as high as $725,000 in high-cost areas. Those are considerable boosts over the current FHA limit of $362,000 and the $417,000 cap for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac's loan purchases.
Bailout.

My house cost me $81,000. Where's my handout?

Look out for higher costs in Thailand, especially Bangkok.
The dollar dropped by almost 30% since last year and prices have increased by about 20% in the same time.

I'm sorry, but complaining about a rebate does not cover up the incredibly damaging effects of 7 years of dark ages that defines the Bush Presidency. Why ignore the 800-pound gorilla in the room? Some will no doubt enjoy some temporary relief from the rebate, but when that bumbling idiot leaves office, the entire world will rejoice in a collective sigh of relief that the biggest weapon of mass destruction is no longer at the helm, a place that he never should've occupied to begin with.
