This article is very accurate and true. Freedom is supposed to be disorderly and not controlled order (civil). I know some here will not see this for what it is, but it is very true.

The last thing we need in American politics is more civility. What we need is more focused anger. Anger begets debate and debate beget change.

I have no problem with vigorous debate. Name-calling, flat-out slander/libel, and opposition just because they are the "other" party is detrimental to a democracy/representative republic and to freedom. Such conduct is always one step away from a punch or a shot and is more indicative of anarchy.

It's not advocating childishness, it's saying that being civil (PC) is not good for the discourse that needs to take place. By "toning" it down, they really mean stop telling the truth. The truth needs to be said and debated on, not PC semantics which never deal in truths. You can be angry but focused.

It all depends on whose definition of civility we are using. To me, Trump has been, not only childish, but uncivil. Civility does not equal PC. It does equal manners.

Yes, who's definition are we using? The Left's PC version is what. Calling people out for their lies and deceit and talking about truths is what the PC version of civility does NOT do and it needs to be done.
Sure you can, but the "civility" being talked about today is not what it seems. It's a blanket term used for PC. So to be un PC it must be called incivility.

Hm. I thought the linked article would clarify, but no such luck. An assortment of strawman arguments and no examples of this incivility we should be cheering on. Is this about Trump running his mouth and being called on it?
Huckabee expresses his dissatisfaction with the Iran nuclear deal by saying that the agreement "will take the Israelis and march them to the door of the oven" - an expression that even had the Israeli ambassador (who hates the deal) suggest he tone it down a bit.
Ted Cruz flat out calls Boehner a liar on the Senate floor.
Trump calls everyone who disagrees with him "a clown", or "stupid". He mocks servicemen for getting captured. He announces private cell phone numbers. He makes fun of physical appearance. Is that useful? Why should it be in any way encouraged? Do we lose anything worthwhile by suggesting that perhaps the debate is healthier if we don't try to hit every emotional button?

Society rewards successful deviance and crushes those that are unsuccessful.
Society requires stability but at the same time knows it cannot exist as a static state.
The key is controlled change so that stability is maintained yet change can be incorporated.
Resisting arrest, for instance, will always end badly, as it should.
Yes, but the type of controlled change that comes about from PC civility is not what it is portrayed. We are being lied to on a consistent basis but it is hidden in doublespeak political correctness. The article is actually a play on this. If civility now means PC, we need more INcivility so the truth gets spoken about and real solutions come about. As you may have noticed, a few on this thread can't grasp that.
