So who was responsible for it 800,001 years ago?

It is not "according to Obama" - it is the scientific consensus, and its a lot longer than 8,000 years.

Look, this plan is a good one (and its smart politics). Everyone would agree that the US is too reliant on fossil fuels, that it is not a long term source of energy, and it give middle eastern hegemonic powers too much influence over our foreign policy.

Cap and trade is smart economics. It will create more demand for solar, wind, other renewables and even natural gas. The private sector will become more innovative in producing alternate power sources. If we did actually charge even a modest amount for per cubic tonne overages then the CBO estimates more than $100bn to the treasury thereby further reducing the deficit without costing the economy jobs.

Will it increase energy costs in the short term? Maybe. But then the big picture, long term benefits are a no brainer. A tax deductible could be built in to offset any increases, but that just further complicates the code. Let's just get on with it.

Plus, it makes it a central point for the 2016 Presidential race. It is an important issue - let's force the candidates to discuss the environment.

I am not a scientist. Therefore, I cannot process information not pre-digested for me by the international conglomerates.

Actually, it's Pope Francis that is saying that.

Even the Pope, a man who spends the majority of his days reading a book of fairy tales, has a superior grasp of science than right-wingers.

Or, you can go directly to the source: NOAA - National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

Thanks for bringing up the important point.

The same PC scientific community that tells us race and sex is a social construct lol?

Liberals should stop using fossil fuels and manufactured goods if they're so concerned. I don't believe proglibs care about nature and the environment on bit. Out of envy they just want everyone to be more taxed, burdened and less affluent.

He's already a persona non grata to the right wing circles. Ironic that he is by far the most popular Pope ever to everyone else.
