Hawking thinks it may open a black hole that swallows the universe. CERN is right now ramping things up, and may have contributed to the recent earthquake in Nepal. Then again, they may just have another another agenda altogether...

What, a site in Europe is also the cite of an ancient Roman town with a temple? What are the chances?
