It is like an indoctrination of sorts. It is like "guns down our throats". It is sad and not a thing to be celebrated and taken so lightly and brazenly. It makes me sad as hell.

I live in Texas. I grew u in the bible belt in Arlington. I saw gun shows, flea markets from a young age with fat, white rednecks selling to anyone who looked like them with no questions asked. I have seen guns sold out of trunks of cars. I have found guns hidden in places(that were not well hidden) as a kid and 20 something in others homes.
The ads here for the sporting gun stores sell Uzi's. CPL classes signs, pawns shops with "we sell bullets now" signs, gun stores signs.
it is just a death culture feeling.
And the people, the gun owners are just rabid with pro-gunness and "they gonna take my gun". It just feels like an overload of it.
Thanks for asking.
LOL...thanks I needed the laugh.....nobody is shoving anything down your throat....
BTW, your story is BS.....I live in Alabama and have never seen anything you say....
If you look at the original poster, he's in Wisconsin. He lives in a state known for it's hunting culture.
It's kind of like living in Ft. Lauderdale and complaining that there are too many t-shirt and bikini ads. "Everyone is trying to force me to own shorts!"
It's a free country. Advertisers pander to the local culture. You are free to move to someplace with a different culture that they pander to.

I live in a state that has a large hunting culture, and the only time that really shows is if I end up in Northern Michigan during the season and notice everyone is wearing Hunter orange or Birchtree camo , except me. I think the OP just needed a safe space, a puppy and maybe some ice cream.
Hmm, that actually doesn't sound all that bad..LOL
It seems like everywhere I look and see, I'm being pressured to buy a gun...not just one gun, multiple ones. Gun shows all over the place, advertisements in newspapers and magazines, and non-stop talk about guns on TV and the radio.
It's like American culture expects me to be carrying around a gun 24/7, and that if I don't own multiple firearms, I'm somehow a second class citizen. Anyone else tired of this?
Here's an idea. Be a big boy, make up your own mind, and if you don't want one, don't buy one. Do you buy feminine hygiene products because they are advertised all the time?
