I have been to both St George and Coeur d' Alene; very beautiful places and I too was the only black there during my visit, but treated well.

The Civil Rights movement was about battling institutionalized racism. Most blacks couldn't care less about what whites do as long as it doesn't affect them. In fact, had white people just stayed in Europe and left the rest of the world alone, everybody would still be in their corner of the earth and there would be no problems. But Europeans couldn't stand other groups living amongst themselves in their own land. Whites could have sat back and just maintained their own peaceful societies from the comforts of Europe without caring what goes on elsewhere but they chose to interfere in other groups affairs. Now you're bitching about other groups interfering in your affairs.

For the record, Malcolm X wanted to live in seperate societies but the civil rights movement was about more marginalized groups than just Blacks so the powers that be sided with MLK's philosophy and pushed him to the forefront

Sure, before those evil White people got on their ships and started spreading around the world, there weren't any wars or problems. Thanks for your insight, professor.

Actually, it was about the fact that Blacks were being marginalized in this country, to the point where they couldn't even vote in many places. It was about having to pay taxes fora school that you aren't allowed to go to. It was about having one's freedoms curtailed compared to the rest of the population. It was about being treated the same as everyone else and having the same rights as anyone else in this country. Basically, it was fighting a system that said "Because of your skin color, you have no say in the affairs of this country or anywhere". What kind of country is it that you fight in every war, on the side of the USA, but still get treated like a second class citizen?

And if Blacks are so unwanted, then remember this. Blacks didn't have a say whether or not they wanted to come to this country.

This.

He can't show me one example of a group being displaced against their will yet still manage to build successful independent societies in their new home

The white supremacists here are much stupider than the white supremacists at stormfront

Yes he did.

He was accepted into those communities because he didn't come across as a hood rat.

The whole premise he brought about is absurd.

The difference between here and stormfront is that on stormfront, there are no filters. People say whatever without fear of censure. Here, we have terms of service, and there are certain things that cannot be said.

Not being a hood rat won't mean you won't face prejudice or hostility. I speak from personal experience.

The Jews are the most successful ethnic group on the planet, despite having been forced out of many of the places they lived through history. And blacks descended from displaced persons are more successful today than those whose ancestors never left their homelands.
