Check your history. The low wage issue began well before Obama was even nominated.
This is true, however, it is also true that the leftist liberal policy has dominated Washington DC for the majority of the last 102 years. The Federal Reserve Act of 1913 signed into law by a democrat congress and democrat president, and the 16th Amendment of the same year, set the stage for what we see today.
Sporadically, we've been presented leftists posing as conservative republicans from time to time (Bush I & Bush II, as an example) for which the dumbed down general public remained clueless to this political gamesmanship.
To illustrate the extent of that cluelessness, we have the economic wrecking ball otherwise referred to as the Obama administration being praised for driving the final nails in our coffin.
Republicans always use trickle down economics. That's why they want to cut taxes on the wealthy and corporations, yet barely to never talk about cutting taxes for low income people. That is the very nature of trickle down economics.
Conservatives want to cut taxes for everyone (who pays taxes) not just the rich.
Trickle down only works if you're willing to do what's necessary to stand up and fight for your share of the trickle.
If you just sit on your a$$ waiting for it to fall into your lap, you'll be in for a big disappointment.
Liberals idea of trickle-down is totally free housing, healthcare, food, teeveee, high-speed internet, Osamaphone, free school breakfast/lunch/dinner....etc, etc...........for anyone who makes up to 400% of the poverty-level, so of course it has not worked.

none of the "problems" you listed are due to capitalism. You CAN NOT get what you want, by reducing the demand for labor, but thats what is taking place due to GOVERNMENT.. and of course liberal policies, like tax policies and welfare expenditures.

The people get the benefit right away. Tax cuts enable we the people to retain our jobs in down times since training costs are high. Research and Development retention is higher as that is the area of the first cuts. Good again as technology lowers cost. (except when government is in control) In good times companies expand and hire we the people. Those companies do not see the return until later.
All of that is the opposite of money trickling down. That's basic.

What we have is welfare for the top. How many CEOs who drove the company into the ground walked away with MILLIONS in severance pay? ALL OF THEM. This is very different from the small business owner who put all their money at risk and if their business fails, they go down with the ship, while their crew are able to swim away to another ship. When it comes to major corporations, we have CEOs who drive their company into the ground, gets bailed out by tax payers. We have other CEOs who do a horrible job to the point where they are fired after less than a year of work and still walk away with a multi-million dollar severance package.
There is a difference between the small business owner and the corporate CEO. The small business owner gets thrown under the bus, while the corporate CEO gets away with anything.
