If you want to "vact" the field--your call. But you are making another fallacious statement by claiming anyone thinks it is a good day when a cop goes down. That is patently absurd.
There were plenty of happy people when this cop was beaten.
How sad and how scary for police officers everywhere that some feel afraid to do their jobs and protect themselves for fear of being the next Darren Wilson. If I had a family member or friend considering this profession I'd discourage them. The times have dangerously turned in favor of supporting the black criminals, regardless of circumstances, over those who protect us from all criminals and that is a damn shame.
I just wonder how many cops are now going to get hurt and even killed because the media has waged this campaign to besmear them of their actions to self-defense, and to a fair investigation, and fair trial.
It's appallingly sad! That cops are now fearing the media, more than the suspects.
If you're seriously in fear of your life, "bad press" shouldn't be much of a concern. If you're not seriously in fear of your life, there's no call to use lethal force.
Training also tells you WHEN to shoot, but people such as you and others in this thread don't care about that....
It's always, he should have had more training or blah blah blah.....
If he is concerned about media attention so much he didn't do his job properly, he shouldn't have been a cop in the first place. I wouldn't want to be his partner if there were a chance he would not act for any reason whatsoever. He didn't sign up for an easy job, and of he can't deal with the pressures than he should resign.

What's appallingly sad is that a cop has to rely on his gun to defend himself. Seriously, aren't cops taught self defense. To be pistol whipped and take it, without knowing the moves to defend yourself is really pathetic.
Uh; that cop was suckerpunched because the perp would NOT back down. Had that fool thought he'd be facing a bullet IF he tried to rush that Alabama cop, he'd probably have obeyed the LEO's orders.
ALL of the "unarmed" and some of the armed people who have been killed defied the Police Orders.
The real story here is that the narrative is "don't do what the Police say" and you can become FAMOUS.
I don't think the Police Officers have any choice but to just not respond to the calls and allow these people to do what ever they want. In each and every case that has become FAMOUS - the people who got shot were on drugs and refused to follow the orders of the Police.
Like "get down on the ground". This is not Rocket Science. Detroit went totally into tank in part because the Police refuse to respond to calls - we will see a lot more of that. It will continue until the Citizens have had enough of the Wilding and Crazy stuff.
