It's no secret he is a Democrat, but with that being said, he isn't afraid to criticize Democrats and the entire political system. He loves having meaningful discussions with people with opposing views. I personally would love to see him run for office down the line and I think this will happen at some point.

My answer:

Yes and I'm an Independent

Yes. He's very smart, compassionate, thoughtful, honest, level-headed and trustworthy. And to anyone who will come along and thumb their nose at the idea of someone in his profession running for a political office, I give your Ronald Reagan.

He ended his show just exactly at the right time to run, if he wants to. That is for sure.

What about a "No because he lacks the necessary experience" option? Your poll pretty much sums up why US politics are a mess. People vote for a letter (R or D) without knowing what the candidate actually stands for or for a telegenic personality over substance.

I agree with you and he is also very open to having real discussions with people with opposing views. How many times has he had O'Reilly and Huckabee for example. And while he has to keep those interviews entertaining, you can tell he really tries hard to understand where they are coming from and it seems like they also have respect for him as well. I know Huckabee and him had very different views on social issues, but Huckabee finds him very respectful and so does Stewart.

I think a lot of people would be surprised by how un funny he would be. Jon Steart is not funny 100% of the time, he can be a amazingly focused and serious individual. If he were running, and in a debate, anyone who underestimated him for a second would have their head handed to them.

But watching him debate someone like Bernie Sanders would be awesome. It would be a debate about facts, and policies, not one liners.

The poll isn't asking why or why not would you support him, it's simply asking would you or would you not and what political affiliation are you, that's why there is an Independent option for those who don't fall in Dems or Reps.

"Experience" is the problem, probably why the Constitution doesn't require it.
