You've shown me where the Catholic church may have issue with the Masons, but you certainly have not shown me where the Masons have an issue with the church.

I didn't say you attacked yoga. I said you can. Just don't attack the pants when a hot woman is wearing them. I think I saw that in the bible. Thou shalt not attack yoga pants. I'm a little rusty on the Bible.

I'm not going back to read the rest of your posts because I have other things to do. I'm sure someone else will be along to handle that.

I was stationed in Napoli Italia for 3 years. During that time, I was in charge of four small offices scatter on 3 bases, and I had a staff of Local Nationals [Italians] working for me. Many of the brothers in the Military Lodge there, did regular visitations to the Italian Lodge in Napoli. A number of times my office staff personnel got into conversations with me about this same issue that has consumed the previous dozen posts in this thread. I learned a lot from those Local Nationals. They had been well 'educated' in Freemasonry by their priests. They told me a great deal about Masonic debbil worship and the blood sacrifices that are made in the lodge. There is good reason for the Italian public to hate Masons, and for the lodges there to remain hidden. Just as we are seeing in this thread. There is clearly hatred afoot.

There is a lot of energy spent on maintaining that hatred [by a certain faction in Italia].

No dog in this fight but I think you are right.

Seems there's no love lost from Catholics.

What does the Church say about Freemasonry?

Quote:
Freemasonry is incompatible with the Catholic faith.
Freemasonry teaches a naturalistic religion that espouses indifferentism, the position that a person can be equally pleasing to God while remaining in any religion.
Quote:
The Church has imposed the penalty of excommunication on Catholics who become Freemasons.
The penalty of excommunication for joining the Masonic Lodge was explicit in the 1917 code of canon law (canon 2335), and it is implicit in the 1983 code (canon 1374).

i am not a mason, and i know this as well. the only masonic degree that requires a belief in christianity is the knights templar, otherwise the masons only require that one has a belief in a higher power known as the great architect. it doesnt matter if the brother is one of the various christian denominations, jewish, muslim, or what ever.

Well Mr Manigualt, you practically called me a liar when I said we had a Catholic priest that was a lodge member. I can assure you that is the truth. If you wish to not believe it that is your problem,

You can attack yoga all you want. I don't like it because I don't bend that way(s). Just, please, don't attack the yoga pants (especially if a hottie is wearing them).

The secrets of the lodge all revolve around the initiation and procedures. The work we do is no secret at all. If you wish to demonize a philanthropic group because they have secrets, feel free. At least have the courtesy to not spread wild conjecture and Grade-A BS. Sit down and talk with a member of a lodge. Don't pick a dues-paying member. Choose someone who is active and knows the rules, regulations, procedures, and preferably, one who has worked the chairs. You'll probably feel like a fool when you get the truth.

What about the Knight's of Columbus? Do they have secrets??

It may be the truth. I for one, don't believe it. Its not impossible, though.
