Some years ago, I visited SF with some family members. I hadn't been there in some time, some of the folks with me had never been. Walking down Market Street on a (rare) sunny day, street folks were out in force sunning themselves on the sidewalk. Including a man wearing nothing but Depends...I thought it was pretty funny. At least he was keeping it to himself!
But in fact, this is a big issue for many cities. Many homeless people don't dress well or look presentable, and have behavior issues. If private businesses won't allow them to use their restrooms, and shelters aren't open during the day - exactly what are they supposed to do?
And pknopp - I hope you will be the first to volunteer for cleanup duty around dumpsters. Surely you wouldn't demand that some minimum-wage janitor do a job that you won't do?
LOL....they don't have to clean it up in the middle of the sidewalk?
They poop like crazy all along the Santa Monica shore. They have to also call escalator maintenance to remove the piles of poop below that gets into the mechanism.
You ban them loitering in certain areas and give permission on a smaller area.
Such liberal, progressive cities have always been full of sh-t.
Are you aware there are over 200 Sanctuary Cities in the US?
And I sure did not realize that Houston, Ft. Worth (actually the great liberal state of Texas has 13 Sanctuary Cities), Phoenix, Tuscon (the liberal state of Arizon has 4) , Anchorage, Tulsa, etc. were so very liberal! Good to know.
