imagine if cannabis was taken off the schedule 1 drug list and was sold like alcohol. Maybe some others as well...

then imagine our existing immigration laws being enforced.

are you wondering why that first question is up there?

remove the war zone element that is plaguing Mexico and people might actually want to stay there.

Million dollar fine to EVERY business that employs an illegal. Track down those cases with the tenacity that we go after frat boy rape hoaxes. Fixed in 6 months. Then, enforce all existing immigration laws on the books like we prosecute black guys for smoking weed. Fixed. End ALL H1B Visa programs and in their place hire a black person or a woman, diversity. Fixed.

Once deported, he plans to make it easier for most Mexicans to return legally.

All of this presumes Congress will fund this fantasy as well as an " impenetrable wall" and boots on the ground to fight ISIS. Sure sounds like a heck of a lot of new big government spending and jobs to me.
Uh; something tells me that MOST illegal aliens WILL leave the US on the double once we get serious about nailing their kind. So it won't take 40 years to get them all. More like a year or 2.

The "race card" doesn't work anymore. Too; many illegal aliens have "white" skin and not all speak Spanish. They ALL need to leave the US, period.

Whatever it takes within the law, works for me. Too; NO country allows illegal aliens, not even Israel. Is Israel "Nazi" too?

Your analogy proves you don't know how to make one, and it is also an insult to the 20 million people who died in WWII. Please buy a history book.

In order to deport 11 million in a year's time(much less 'day one'), you're going to need a national immigration police force of over 400,000. Is that what Trump supporters want?

How are you going to round them up? Door to door searches? Once you round them up, how are you going to house, clothe and feed 11 million people until you can ship them to the border? And how are you going to ship them? Cattle cars? Are you going to have massive detention camps to sort out the legals from illegals, or just send them back and let Mexico sort 'em out? What if Mexico won't take them back? Mass executions?

How exactly is this all going to work?
How do we address the people engaging in fraud, identity theft, tax evasion, etc...?

This is how Eisenhower dealt with illegal immigration, but we also could use an e-verify system and other electronic and legal methods to halt employment for illegal aliens, and other incentives to make it plain to people that coming into the USA illegally is just not a very workable ordeal.

How Eisenhower solved illegal border crossings from Mexico - CSMonitor.com

Fifty-three years ago, when newly elected Dwight Eisenhower moved into the White House, America's southern frontier was as porous as a spaghetti sieve.

President Eisenhower cut off this illegal traffic. He did it quickly and decisively with only 1,075 United States Border Patrol agents – less than one-tenth of today's force.

Some 750 agents swept northward through agricultural areas with a goal of 1,000 apprehensions a day. By the end of July, over 50,000 aliens were caught in the two states. Another 488,000, fearing arrest, had fled the country.

By September, 80,000 had been taken into custody in Texas, and an estimated 500,000 to 700,000 illegals had left the Lone Star State voluntarily.

Have you read his plan that was authored with Jeff Sessions the leading immigration expert in congress?

IT says exactly that. They aren't going to do a gulag style deportation that the media has you believing.

Trump is a businessman, he knows that if you cut off the support... the customers will go elsewhere (home).

The demagogues have to scare people with visions of Nazi era cattle cars, goon squads going house-to-house pulling screaming kids from homes. You know, sort of like how Pres. Clinton and A.G. Reno dealt with people like Elián González, who were in the country illegally.

despite the ugliness of that picture - all's well that ended well. He is with his father in Cuba, where he WANTS to be.
