Why is Britain and America friends with Saudi Arabia?!?!?

I think France as last western nation to use beheading as death penalty in 1952;not that long ago really. Basically its just one method of death penalty and the English used hanging. I would think beheading would be less painful than being stoned to death.

In Saudi Arabia the guy with the sword hacks away a few times at the person's neck, quite barbaric. Even centuries back the English used the goullitine, perhaps they should dust off their old equipment and sell to these Islamic regimes.

Because the Saudis control OPEC and the US needs OPEC to sell oil exclusively in US Dollars and not in Euros or Rubles or Yuan or Basket Currencies.

Yeah - In the second interview with Charlie Ross, Syrian President al-Assad even refers to Saudi Arabia and the Petro-dollar when they are discussing the future situation in the Middle East.

Both interviews are really good; al-Assad is a good interviewer and seems to have a sense of humor. Unfortunately, his regime is failing and he is now the Mayor of Damascus. The USA can add another destroyed country to their list.

Unfortunately, way too many people have absolutely no clue as to how many products require components or processing that, without petroleum byproducts, would be restrictively expensive to produce.
