Truth is, for most you under attack, you'll be death before you knew what happened.
If you're not a trained professional and you managed to deter a gunman with a gun, it is merely blink luck.
They appeared to have never held a gun before in their lives, then being asked to wear clothes they are not used to, like a extra large, long t-shirt, gloves and a helmet.
You are correct, they are complete novices. It's akin to giving a person a 5 minute class on cars, when they have never ridden as a passenger in a car, much less driven one. Then laughing at them in a scenario when the car is parked and they fail start the car in time, and drive away from some emergency situation.
Congrats, you've just made the case that no one can drive cars except the "trained professional."
The truth is if you are carrying a gun on you, a magic shield of protection will envelop you and no harm will come to you.
Remember the Wild West? All those guys who were openly armed never died.
Clearly the only people that think this are the ignorant , ill informed anti firearms people. If you are going to debate people on something at least do some homework and come up with some rational logical talking points. Emotionally based opinions will just get shredded, as we've seen in this thread.
It is over the top ridiculous how many of these anti-gun nuts use ridiculous claims to "argue" their point.
The facts are overwhelmingly against their ideology, so they must invent all of these lies and hope they can convince enough simple minded people to agree with them.

.
More Hoplophobe BS that proves absolutely nothing. Guns are used for self defense every day. The fact that it is not 100% doesn't make carrying a weapon invalid, it's just a typical leftist argument that would strain the credulity of a brick. If you are actually trying to convince people then go away and find yourself a real argument instead of this tripe.
All of the statistical data clearly show the op couldn't be more wrong.
You are correct. The gunman in this scenario clearly knew which student had the gun, and where the student was sitting, and immediately targets the student.
This also assumes that every scenario will be the same, with the gunman always having the advantage of surprise. When obviously there are times the person with concealed carry is alerted to the shooter's presence, and they have time to draw their gun, locate the shooter, and take him out without the shooter being aware the conceal carry person was even there.
So OP is recommending everyone get professionally trained on how to handle a gun...I agree.
I can agree with the anti-gun crowd that we would have less deaths on a normal basis if we didn't have guns. However, the world occasionally sees millions of unarmed citizens killed after they were disarmed such as in Nazi Germany, Stalin's Russia, Mao China, Laos, etc. It's better to accept a dribble than a flood.
im going to end this thread with something that cannot be debated.
if someone wants to kill you, they will kill you. end of story. if presidents can be shot with guards with guns near them, you will get killed in your house if somebody decides that they want to kill you.
simple as that.
I agree.
If someone is planning to kill you and puts their mind to it...planning, plotting, etc...you are likely toast.
But that's not what we're talking about.
We're talking about situations like 2 years ago when 2 big men thought no one was home and tried to kick down our back door.

Even in this case, a random shooter would have been surprised to find a student carrying.
The student should have dropped behind concealment, drawn and prepared to engage rather than try what obviously failed.
I agree.

Or the guy with the huge long arrest record that tried to assault my female friend who was home alone with her kid one night and shot him as he broke in. Took police about 15 minutes to get there after 911.
Should I assume this thread and that video are both parodies?
