It has never ended in 1400+ years of Islam, Christianity and Judaism before them, and never will. The record is pretty clear, human beings have never been peaceful (for long). Side with your tribe and Allies and the rest be dammed.
They have been claiming this for decades. It's one reason why we need to stay out of these things. we simply do not understand the culture. It's what they do over there to promote the idea that no one wants to screw with them.
We saw this in Iraq with Saddam trying to promote the idea that he had nukes when he didn't. They believe that promoting the idea that they are tough will cause others to not mess with them. So what? In the end it harms no one.
A smart President would have moved half a million troops and 10,000 tanks and attack helicopters into Iraq before starting "negotiations" with Iran.
But ours isn't very smart.
