I have no idea what role religion would play here. The government is too big for it's britches and it's far past time for people to tell it to back off some.
Government is too big for its britches only because of idiots who infringe on people's rights or basic needs. If people didn't discriminate, then we wouldn't need people to get slapped around by government for infringing on civil rights. If business paid living wages, we wouldn't need minimum wage laws at all. It's because of the bad apples that spoil it for the rest of bushel.
I wish the Oath Keepers would find the to stop all of their posturing and just get on with it. I say this because if they had the cojones to begin with they would have stormed the damned Courtroom when she was thrown in jail the last time. Frankly, I'm just tired of the bs.
And perchance who gets to decide what is fair, you, some guy with a gun? Who exactly has the power and authority to make such distinctions?
Obviously not those with the power currently. It's not hard. If one person is found in contempt and absolutely nothing is done while another is sent to jail, the system is not fair.

Not only.
And its none of the governments business what Wal Mart pays.
If we as a society believe in a wage floor it is up to us to provide it, not force others to provide it.
The anti-government "Patriot" group the Oath Keepers is sending armed guards to protect Kim Davis from further arrest if she continues to defy the Supreme Court's ruling on gay marriage.
Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes:
"This judge needs to be put on notice that his behavior is not going to be accepted and we’ll be there to stop it and intercede ourselves if we have to. If the sheriff, who should be interceding, is not going to do his job and the governor is not going to do the governor’s job of interceding, then we’ll do it.”
Rhodes and a number of his armed thugs are on their way to Kentucky now. Their plan is to "educate" the sheriff on his responsibilty to block the actions of the federal court, and that his group is "ready to lead by example" to prevent Davis from being re-arrested.
Gee, what could go wrong here?
Oath Keepers need another 15 minutes of fame.
No worries. Cruz will try to trump ( pun intended) the Huck and host a campaign stop ( I mean prayer meeting) and all will be well.

Kim Davis is government. She is using government power to pursue her own little weird goals. She's the power-hungry bureaucrat everyone one the right claims to hate.

Impeachment, but as the legislative assembly of Kentucky isn't in session, that's a hard one.

And a fine would have been the reasonable first step to something like this. Throwing someone in jail for this is overkill, to say the least.
For disobeying a court order? Happens all the time.
