Just wondering how the concept of banning guns can possibly work if it has not worked on everything else that has been banned?

Plenty of people have said it, just check any gun related thread. It's usually someone from Europe or Canada.

Gun control isn't the same as banning guns. We already have alcohol control, cigarette control. drug control, even speech control

We already have gun control. The OP started a thread about gun prohibition similar to what was used against booze.

but that is where you are wrong. look at the agenda of the gun grabbers. they dont want gun control, they want gun bans, complete gun bans. gun control is just the start.

and it starts simply enough, we just want to ban the evil assault weapons. i mean heck, most everyone can agree on that cant they? then it becomes all automatic weapons, and all semi automatic rifles. thats reasonable isnt it? then they start on the large caliber handguns, eventually getting down to black powder muzzle loaders.

look at the history of gun bans in england and australia, its how they started, with so called reasonable gun laws, and now its nearly impossible to get a firearm in either of those countries legally.

and yes i can hear your argument not, but we wont go down that slippery slope. but you forget that tombstone, chicago, new york, san fransisco, and LA are already there. in fact lawsuits had to be files and run through the scotus against washington dc, tombstone, and chicago in order to get the right to keep and bear arms in those places, and even then its very difficult to legally do so.

Gun bans will accomplish their true motive --- disarming home owners
Billions have been spent for this purpose
The law has encouraged gun use by criminals ---- by easing sentencing, removal of capital punishment and by allowing civil law suits by criminals against their victims

Jeeze, there you go introducing common sense. A few Liberals want to ban guns but the majority of Liberals and I am assuming some Conservatives want gun control.

It's only the fringes of both parties that want complete banning or mandatory guns for everyone.

Who are these "Gun Grabbers" ? Almost no one supports banning guns yet there is a clear correlation between numbers of weapons on the street and violent crime - any police department will tell you as much.

Sure law abiding citizens should be able to own guns and criminals should not - so why not through gun regulation and control with registration of all weapons in a central database ? Why is it all or nothing with you NRA guys.

Should we all have RPGs and Grenades ? How about AK47s ? It used to be legal to buy Tommy Guns - all now regulated. Oh, and Australia has not had another mass shooting since their ban and as far it goes they seem fine with their new regime. BTW no one is proposing that here.
