A small town in Alabama is about to turn their police force into the fashion police by passing an ordinance which would ban men from wearing saggy pants and women from wearing short shorts.
Councilman Frank Goodman: "I prayed about this. I know that God would not go around with pants down.”
So will we start to see young adults being incarcerated for not meeting the fashion standards of fundamentalist Christians now? (Daisy Duke would be doomed to life in prison.) I wonder if the next step will be to ban bikinis and speedos at the local pool?
Don't these people have anything more important to pray about?
and???
many, many (more than 20 cities) towns/cities have banned/seeked to ban baggie pants
Personally, I don't feel the government has any legitimate power to force people to wear clothing in public let alone decide what that clothing should be.
Don't get me wrong, I want everyone to be clothed in public, mainly because a good 70% of the public is too visually revolting to be parading around nude; however, just because I want it doesn't mean I feel the government should yield such powers.
the way I look at it...they want to wear their pants down, they are advertising that they want to be done up the butt....some one is going to say to them "bend over I'll drive"

Actually the fashion started in prison to indicate the inmate was someone else's "property". With all that entails.
Nice leap in logic there. But it's much more likely that if they are basing their ordinances on messages they receive while praying to God, they are right wing Conservatives.
Yes, black people are very religous and very conservative. Except when they vote, a very weird dynamic.
correct it started in the jails... and the idiots who wear it outside..are just advertising they want to be someones biatch
I'd like to watch you go up and suggest that to one of them.
