Where do you think criminals get their guns??????

From the gun fairies?

That and 80+ million gun owners who will says ********* when you try to confiscate their private property.
Well, I guess we'll just have to pry them from their cold dead hands, don't we?

you keep talking about banning guns, but you have obviously not read any of the commentary on the second amendment, and why it was put in place have you? try this;

https://beingjohnadams.wordpress.com...2nd-amendment/

remember that we fought a war of independence against a tyrannical government, and we didnt want such a government to happen in the US ever again, so teh second amendment was put in the constitution. now just because you wet your little boy pants every time you see a gun, doesnt mean that everyone should give up their guns to suit you, and others like you.
Ha ha ha. The 2nd amendment is supposed to keep the government fearful of the people?? If that's the purpose then the it is a completely and utterly failure - the government is NOT fearful of anyone. They've got killer drones, tanks, and SWAT team. You and your gun is going to repel that eh??

I'm sure we all agree that the possibility of a tyrannical government is somewhere between slim and none. So we can get rid of the amendment now?

What a stupid idea for a thread. I'm not wasting time reading 33 pages so I'm going to assume that this has been posted already but anti-gun folks never claimed a gun can never protect you and your family. The issue is for every story like the one the opening poster linked there are 10 telling the story of Little Johnny killing his brother Tommy.

Who do you honestly think is going to be doing this mass confiscation of guns from citizens? Are you going to personally go door to door demanding that folks turn over their guns?

Relax. Take a deep breath. You aren't going to do squat! Neither are the rest of your anti-gun friends!

Except that is not true, guns are used over a million time a year for self defense. Thankfully that can usually be done without shooting anyone.

Actually, that's not true. Cops are no match for the military which would quite likely join the citizens to overthrow a tyrannical government. Military personnel do not swear to protect the government and I doubt if LE does either.

Read history. It does happen.

Sure. And while we're at it, since we're "getting rid" of Amendments, let's do away with the 4th, and the 5th, your right to privacy, and right to remain silent, as well as the 1st and your right to freedom of speech. Unless of course you believe that those rights will be protected too?

i recognize the fact that you hate guns, and if you had the opportunity, you would ban them and repeal the second amendment, thats fine, but note this, our government IS becoming a tyrannical government. it is happening slowly over time just as the progressives envisioned.

and its people like you that keep saying things like, but its good for the people, or its a reasonable restriction to what ever right they are going after at a particular time. the problem is that people generally accept these reasonable restrictions.

take cigarettes for instance. it started off as, just add this warning label to your package, thats reasonable right? then it became add these tougher warnings to your package, then it became lawsuits against a legal product, but that product was never banned because the people didnt want it banned. then it became more lawsuits against the same product, this time because of second hand smoke. at some point in there smoking was banned in restaurants, bars, in public buildings, with in 20 ft of the entrance to a public building, etc. it has now gotten to the point where child protective services can work to remove a child from the family home if one of the parents smokes in the home.

where does it stop? now the progressives are doing the same thing with guns. and people like you think law abiding gun owners are crazy because we dont want these "reasonable" gun laws put into effect. its because we know that this is just the next step along the way to a complete gun ban.

you think that somehow banning guns will stop gun crime, but you forget that criminals dont follow the law, which is why they are criminals. if you were to manages somehow to remove those 300 million guns that are out there in this country, there would still be gun crimes, perhaps not right away, but they would still happen with in a year. why? because criminal organizations would be running guns into this country like they did when alcohol was "prohibited" in this country. think that making marijuana legal is going to stop the black market of MJ? guess again. just because alcohol is legal now, doesnt mean that bootleggers have gone away.

but you dont care about all that, you just want law abiding citizens in this country to not have guns. but why? it isnt about crime that you claim, you have another reason, what is it? there are enough gun laws in this country already. and they are not really effective. why? because the government isnt ENFORCING those laws. again why?

The problem is we allow people to have guns in homes that shouldn't like a family with a mentally unstable person like say Adam Lanza.
