Back in February we reported on the shocking footage of a police officer in Alabama sweeping out the legs of an frail elderly man and slamming his face into the concrete, for no other reason that he did not understand what the officer was saying to him.

He is paralyzed? Really, in which way, he cannot walk anymore? Needs someone to push him around and wipe his butt, paralyzed?
Or can he walk, with a walker?
Now, before you attempt to call me wrong, the cop was fired, almost immediately, this was not racism, it was a cop being stupid and you will never to be able prove anything different.
Was the cop WRONG, 100% agreed, he paid the price....the officer clearly lied....he got off balance...LOL...
Your link also says "excessive force" but is that what the now ex-cop was on trial for?
The officer probably just didn't know what he was doing or too enraged and out of control to stop himself.
So many cops abuse drugs and alcohol and many have ptsd, so let's give em a break here.
I don't know the particulars of the trial, but there is no way this former cop will got off unless the prosecutors are doing an overreach on the charges.
His actions were inexcusable and frankly criminal, so I suspect he will be convicted provided the charges fit the crime.
