Pretty simple question. What have liberals done to show they are mature, intelligent and smart enough to competently run a European-style social democracy? This structure takes intelligence, honesty, strength, transparency, budgeting, and even soft factors like enthusiasm and entrepreneurship (to keep improving things).

What is your definition of a "European Social Democracy" and would you be so kind as to point to what you consider to be a quintessential example of a country that would fit your definition.

Until then, I would state that running a "successful" social democracy is more dependent on a citizenry with a mentality capable of supporting a social democracy than a party to govern it.

When was the last time either party acted for the benefit of the citizens? The vast majority of politicians today do what benefits them, not the citizens.

If you want a civil war, elect a socialist.

EXACTLY

neither party has the moral high ground. Anyone who thinks either party acts in the best interests of Americans is not playing with a full deck

The Democratic leadership in this country couldn't run a successful McDonald's. I don't think that there is a single one that has a clue about balancing a budged, profit and loss statements, let alone anything to do with productivity. Sadly, most Republicans in congress are only slightly better.

If you want a civil war, elect people who allow for the creation of an oligarchy. You know, no middle class, the uber wealthy have all the voice because SCOTUS ruled money is speech, corporate welfare - those kind of things. Eventually the serfs rise up against the ruling class.
