Does anyone actually believe that this person, who just happens to be gay, is actually the best person in the entire country, with a population of 330 million or so, to lead the Army? Is it really worth that much of a slap in the face to the vast majority of service members?

This is about as disrespectful as electing a commander in chief that "loaths the military". Sick, political pandering by the narcissist in chief.

This is why I'm SO happy he chose an openly gay person. If it brings forth unhinged lunacy and rage, then it's the right choice, history has proven this is true.

What's sick and disgusting is that there are still people like you who believe that because somebody is gay they can't be the best candidate.

It's a hell of a lot higher than 1%, probably closer to 10%. And the military probably has higher rates than the general population. What better place for a gay man then the military, one of the world's largest sausage fests. Brothers in arms indeed.

There's a lot of these types in America, most of them are flocking to Donald Trump, it's why he is LEADING the polls as an openly bigoted and racist clown who reminds one of Mussolini.

"Fanning, 47, has been a specialist on national security issues for more than two decades and has played a key role overseeing some of the Pentagon’s biggest shipbuilding and fighter jet programs."

"His long tenure in the Pentagon and his breadth of experience in shepherding some of the department’s most complex and sensitive weapons programs was a key factor in his nomination for the Army’s top job, administration officials said."

Sounds pretty qualified to me so obviously the bigots here just hate him because he's gay. Whackjobs and wingnuts, the Right Wing of today.

Or take advantage of the free transformation of their Caitlyn Jenner Syndrome at taxpayer expense ... swords into plowshares ... plowshares into swords ...damn the torpedoes and bullets.
