clearly though, many Islamic countries in the ME and Africa have shown the world quite well how inept they are at self-rule. they were better off when they were colonized. they're becoming Europe's problem again anyway - should have just stayed as colonizing powers.
Your comment burns me up.

Europe CREATED the problem . I'm not even going to go off on that tangent.

Anywhooooo... The west wants to build empire like the days of old and it just isn't working out. You can install all the Hamid karzais you want and it STILL won't work..... The people won't stand for a puppet gov. That's why Hamid karzais can't leave his house.

Here we go again.. Building nations for democracy.. How well has that worked in the Middle East in the past? It doesn't matter who in in the oval office. All of these azz clowns are all the same. They just have to stick their nose where it doesn't belong. Leave Assad alone. People get the government they deserve. If his people aren't willing to stand up against him, then they have chosen. Let it be.

There has to be a reason that's classified or something because the united States doesn't really care how people are treated so long as its in OUR interests. Saddam was our man until he nationalized the oil . rumsfeld even shook hands with the man when we were shipping arms and chem weapons to him. The shah of Iran was brutal to his own people. Augustus pinocche was brutal. Long list of brutal dictators we supported or support.

No, the US has had a formulated plan for the various ME countries for years.

Don't you remember the "7 countries in 5 years" plan as told by Wesley Clark ?

The situation is similar to Afghanistan in 1980s where we did everything we could to get the Russians out. In the end they left, and US lost interest in the country, and Afghanistan was left to the warring islamist factions, and the Taliban came out the winner. If, and when Assad is out, there needs to be someone else to run the country, or it will end up just like Afghanistan. Obama didn't invent US foreign policy, the policy has been the same for decades, he just happens to be the guy who is currently carrying it out. The next one will pick up where he left off.

No but he is following the game plan.

He's definitely not the President of Peace as he claimed to be during his campaign back in 2007.
The US uses drones now and the President even has his own hit list.

He went into the WH chanting "Yes we can" and inside got told "No you won't".

Superpowers weaken each other by proxy all the time. Ever wonder where the Taliban and Isis get their weapons and logistics from? The united States financed the mujahadeen when Russia invaded and now the Russians and Chinese are covertly supporting the rebels in Afghanistan , Iraq and Syria. Well... Rebels meaning Assad in syrias case. Russia and China benifit from a weakened US. The weapons don't just magically appear out of thin air. Question is, why is Syria strategic to the US? On the next episode of HOMELAND..... Lol
