de·ni·al
noun: denial
the action of declaring something to be untrue

It's easier to deny the truth than to face it

He means if someone(the federal government) gives you(2sleepy) money to pay your electric bill, then you have more of your own money that you have earned from another source to use for dining out. If you don't have to pay for your electricity you have more expendable income.

You missed the whole discussion about how the poor generally has little or no access to medical care because if they are on medicaid a majority of doctors will refuse to see them because of low reimbursement rates, and if they don't get medicaid no doctors will see them, their care is either in an ER, a charity clinic or planned parenthood will treat them huh?

10 percent is a sizeable chunk of change to some of the poorer states. Just imagine 10 percent of your own income leaving your wallet. And it is naive on anyones part, Democrat or Republican, to ever believe a financial estimate from the U.S. government. They are incapable of keeping spending down.

This was a totally Dem deal. Why didn't the Affordable Care Act actually make medical care affordable?

Obamacare is a totally Dem deal. They had free reign to pass whatever they wanted. Why didn't the Dems fix any of those problems?

When a politician names a bill, it's usually an antonym.

What is ACA in affect? An expansion of Medicaid, and a redistribution of middle class wealth to fund said expansion.

Who benefits more, the poor or the insurance industry who wrote ACA?

You claim others to be missing the discussion while you're missing the facts entirely.

I read the article, This is very interesting:
Quote:
“The expansion of Obamacare will cost our state taxpayers $5 billion,” Florida Gov. Rick Scott said in an interview with POLITICO last week, referring to the 10-year cost
That 5 billion amounts to 500 million a year. The Florida budget includes 400 million this year to keep their hospitals from shutting down due to their unreimbursed costs for treating the uninsured. So just so that Rick Scott can prove he is conservative enough to run for the senate, Florida will save a whopping 100 million this year by denying 1,253,000 of its citizens healthcare That makes sense (said no one ever) But that's not the end of the story, he could have covered 470 million of that 500 million by vetoing a bill that cuts tax on satellite TV and cellphone service by 3%

I'm not defending the ACA so you probably would do well to try that argument on someone who is interested.
