Especially now that we have Obamacare, which covers women's health services. PP is redundant and unnecessary. Why fund the duplication of services? That's a waste of taxpayer money.

Once again, someone that cannot grasp the difference between "edit" and "fabricate".

I'm sitting back and enjoying seeing the segment of society that thinks it's OK to mutilate babies, lie about what exactly they do for women, pretend that no tax dollars go towards abortions, and spend tax dollars on political activities, travel and exorbitant salaries.

I guess the only high paid CEO's that liberals despise are ones in the private sector. These clowns get a pass, apparently.

The only thing wrong with these type of hearings is that as a group of people they all have erectile dysfunction when it comes to doing anything about it. They're all talk and no action. That's what you get when you keep electing lawyers.

Instead of attacking Planned Parenthood, why don't the anti-choice extremists in this thread first address the edited videos, political grandstanding and doctored graph statistics put forward by their side?

You just talk all over that &%*$ like nobody will notice you're a bunch of phony liars.

Hello??? We know you're making &%$# up.

Just set up a 1-800 phone line with an automated message for a few thousand a year.
Typically, most women visit an OB/ Gyn for Cancer Screening- a Pap smear and physical breast exam. They are then referred to a hospital for a mammogram. The patient may also be taught how to give themselves a breast exam at home and tested for STDs.

Most women seek a doctor for issues related to birth control, their period, painful sex and/ or a boatload of menopause related issues.

It's unfortunate that some seek to reduce women's healthcare to trivial matters.

The above post reveals how little the anti-choice posters know about the topic. The vast majority of woman who use PP facilities use Medicaid. That's their insurance and PP provides the services. PP may accept other insurance but it doesn't matter for this discussion.

Why PP is needed is because women have found that their needs are not met in other health service providers. The government doesn't "fund" PP. Women choose to visit PP and use their Medicaid benefit there.

Let me throw conservative arguments back at you: Why do you conservatives have a problem with women choosing where THEY want to go in a free market? Why do you want the government to decide winners and losers?

I don't think this was the intention of the hearing but I guess they ran out of ideas.

PP does not need to exist at all if it cannot survive without taxpayer support. Acting as an overpriced "information booth" or "referral service" in the front is just a con to hide their real purpose which is to provide abortions to permiscuous women who don't use birth control and are too ashamed to go see their real doctor.

Obamacare requires everyone to be covered by real insurance that can be used at a real hospital.
Medicaid is real insurance.

Planned Parenthood is a real doctor's office.

Why do you, as a conservative, want to decide for others where they seek services in a marketplace? Where is all that talk about personal choice? Why do you want to exclude Planned Parenthood from being able to accept Medicaid -- I thought you folks didn't want the government to pick winners and losers?

Despite the mandate, serious millions remain uninsured. 19 states have not expanded Medicaid. Even then, the net does not capture everyone.

You cannot walk into an ER and expect them to perform routine Cancer screening, counsel and provide BC , test for STDs or address most issues related to women's healthcare.

News Flash: Many other doctors offices in poor neighborhoods couldn't exist without taxpayer support (e.g. Medicaid). Many doctors in South Florida couldn't exist without taxpayer support (e.g. Medicare.)

For most of these women, Planned Parenthood is their "real doctor." Please don't degrade the medical profession by presuming that doctors who work in clinics and accept Medicaid patients are inferior to doctors who have offices on Park Avenue and only accept cash.
