I have seen no reports of how this information got into the hands of anti-gun activists but it really does not matter if his opinions are expressed on his personal Facebook page.
It's one thing for a private citizen to believe in conspiracy theories quite another for government and elected officials in positions of responsibility, especially those law enforcement involved in collecting facts in murders.
Maybe he believes this latest mass shooting is also part of the master plan.

Facebook is not personal? Then we should tell that to the millions of people who use Facebook for personal purposes by posting personal photo's, videos, and messages with their family and friends. You tell the world that Facebook is not personal and subject to public scrutiny and possible legal actions based on what a person posts then you will see millions of people stop using Facebook and the company/stocks will collapse.
Huh? It's only personal if you restrict who can see your posts. If they are 'public' then the content of the post is subject to public scrutiny. Just because a nut job Sheriff makes a personal page and posts his garbage truther theory on it does not mean that people can't question his fitness for his position based on his FB posts. The position of sheriff is generally an elected position and I hope the people of Douglas county recall him.
Not the brightest sheriff out there, though I am sure there are worse.
